  1. Yep, I don't think he suits institution type clubs very well. He works better for a Chelsea rather than a Man Utd for example. A club where he can almost be bigger than the badge.
  2. Obertan says hello. I'd rather not. We don't need to f*** up our squad as well. All we need to do now is get rid of Pardew, and sign a few players of course. It'll be overhaul time if he's to have his type of players. Now, and when a new manager surely has to come in sooner rather than later. I don't mean he gets to choose. But he needs some involvement. MYM, Anita & Marveaux are on first team wages being used wrongly.
  3. He did exactly the opposite at Real Madrid, particularly in his last year there. Always deflecting blame. Exactly. Wait till stuff doesn't go his way, it'll all be 'players who betrayed me etc' like last time he left Chelsea. Ummm, no. Chelsea 1.0 was all Jose vs Roman and his cronies. Oh yeah, Jose battling that c*** who give him hundreds of millions to build a dream team. May have had something to do with appointing Avram Grant (lol) and Frank Arnesen (at least that kind of made sense if they could've worked together) over his head and spunking 30 million on Shevchenko when he wanted Eto'o. And Madrid's just a clusterfuck no matter who's there, rumors are popping up already that they are ready to rumble Ancelotti if he doesn't win the La Liga or the Champions League. Whole situation was weird, Ronaldo has said he'd work with him again and despite being the cause of it all, Ancelotti still has Lopez as his number one over Iker. He did have a fall out with the Chelsea players according to Makelele. He was being an idiot in Spain and they didn't like it. That's the cause of his issues there. The media here love him and feed into his BS. They don't think he's a genius in Spain and they don't find his antics charming or funny. That's why when he came back he was talking about being loved and being happy. Mourinho loves to create an us vs. them mentality but it didn't work at Madrid. Half his players have won multiple trophies with the Barca guys and they all felt the rivalry and gotten over the top and personal/vindictive e.g. sticking his finger in Vilanova's eye. By the end of his reign his was talking nonsense on a weekly basis.
  4. If we are going to persist with Pardew we need him to at least have a say in who comes in and out. We've spent something like 12m on Anita & MYM and we need to play towards their strengths or else we are just wasting money.
  5. If L'pool and Spurs can fight for their players fro a season or two so can Manchester United
  6. 9 points behind Liverpool. Moyesy as got to go.
  7. Yes. Yes it was. I like Moyes but wow man.... wow.
  8. I've been critical of Moussa but fuck me some of these comments....
  9. I would still like it if winning at OT meant something.
  10. Let's be honest, the passing and moving isn't in his game. When he gets the ball he often slows down himself and looks to beat an opponent. He doesn't look up for a pass then look to move.
  11. Anita likes a give and go. He's always on the move. Tiote always shows for the ball.
  12. Hatem looks the ball into feet.Often from a standing position. He likes to weigh up his defender and beat him with acceleration and skill. Maybe it's because of fitness and injuries but he's not the fastest over longer distances. But he has a great burst of acceleration and he's very skilful still which accounts partly why he likes a standing start. It does slow down play. Which doesn't encourage movement from team mates. Add into the fact he's likely to lose the ball too. When he was playing as a #10 I was very critical of Sissoko's passing. It was too quick, too direct and he would lose possession too much as a result. But when it works (mostly on the counter) it's rapid and devastating play.
  13. He's all right, but needs time to develop. Not a defensive midfielder though - he's an all-rounder, and it's pretty clear that that's what Sherwood expects from his CMs. I don't think he merits his place right now tbh, with Paulinho back, and Sandro returning from injury. We're definitely not getting top four this year though, unless something clicks soon, and I'd fully expect us to be seventh if we carry on like this. We just look like a bit of a mess, and really need the same team to play more regularly together. Dawson is staying in the team because he's the one real vocal leader on the pitch and he's the one centre-back who's been consistently fit, despite being our fourth best CB. Walker and Rose are being asked to do a little too much for their capabilities, I fear. The midfield under Sherwood just doesn't seem coherent at all, although we rarely play the same one twice, so it's not entirely surprising. Ade is Ade, and Eriksen is the one really consistently classy player going forward. So, naturally, teams (like Everton today) will single him out for treatment. I think Sherwood has been trying a few things out, and fair enough, but that will mean that we fall behind. Rodgers has been working with his team for a couple of years, Martinez has had since pre-season (and a team that has been - for the most part - together for a while), and Moyes has a handful of world-class players to bale him out. Sherwood is starting mid-season with a team that is full of strangers. Fair assessment.
  14. The reason why opinions here go from Palmer to Zidane is because that's how he plays. That heavy first touch for his 1v1 was legitimately very poor but then he showed an a excellent touch, quick feet and a well measured pass to create Marv's 1v1.
  15. To win the league. Top 4 is their's to lose
  16. He's f***ing Italian, ffs. He plays for their national team for christs sake. It wouldn't make it any less disgusting if he wasn't. Although it would hurt Balotelli more.
  17. He's absolutely brilliant. One of my favourite players in the world right now.
