  1. That's why in some games Tiote has made more passes than Cabaye? Tiote makes the most succesful passes in every game he plays without Cabaye and is at worst, second with Cabaye.
  2. Parker suffered from the same problem was Tiote when he was at Newcastle.
  3. 18 months? He'll have to be faltering very badly to get 18 months. Top 3/4 and challenging well for cups will see him stay for a period Not qualifying for the CL might force their hand. Man Utd. can't afford the Chelsea/Madrid route. Literally. They need to hire and stick by their managers. They're not Newcastle United ffs

  5. Laudrup has Europe and a good situation at Swansea. He's only another good season away from Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs type jobs in England let alone Madrid et al. I do think he enjoys management. Enjoy being the main thing. Don't think he wants all the stress or glory of a bigger club. Not sure he's ibe fir the long-term. He likes a move doesn't he?
  6. We improved league position. Finished 11th twice. Apart from his 3 top 5 finishes. We've only been higher than 11th twice. In what time frame? We've finished in the Premier League top half 9 times I think. Obviously since SBR took over. Oh. The 9 seasons since he left. We've finished higher than 11th.... twice. Including one relegation.
  7. We improved league position. Finished 11th twice. Apart from his 3 top 5 finishes. We've only been higher than 11th twice. In what time frame? We've finished in the Premier League top half 9 times I think. The years since he left. Our first 4 years with KK was top 6 finishes. Since then we've only finished top half in Bobby's 3 top 5 seasons, Roeder's 7th and Pardew's 5th. We've never finished 8th,9th or 10th. It's a European push or nothing with us.
  8. Robson ? He was the club captain who played once in a blue moon when Fergie arrived there. It was his dislocated shoulder period. And at first, Fergie wanted him out, as he was the kingpin of the drinking culture that Fergie wanted to get rid of. And did by selling Whiteside and McGrath. Sorry I meant Bobby Charlton not Bryan Robson. It's good to keep these characters around. Not day-to-day but there for advice and to remind players, especially young ones of standards.
  9. I really want us to give a manager 5-6 years and see where we are. Even just a decent-ish young manager like Rodgers.

  11. They've benefitted from an all powerful manager and real team ethos. That should remain. City still look like great individuals. Chelsea too. Everton could've won 1 trophy. Fat Sam and Redknapp, limited managers mind managed that. Moyes is definitely a reactive manager by nature. This season he's tried to be more pro-active admittedly.
  12. "Watching over his shoulder" is OTT. Fergie had Busby and Robson. AT Bayern, their greats are still around to advise and such. Hoeness and the like.
  13. I think this is part of our problem at Newcastle. We have never tasted real success in any of our times. We don't know what works for us. So all we have is what got us the closest. And that's "man of the people", "enthusiastic", attacking focused managers that probably left too early. And we also have owners who fail to realise what Newcastle United need to be successful. But at Man Utd. and to a lesser extent L'pool. They know what they need.
  14. They know what Manchester United's success is built on. They can't compete on money alone. If they adopt the chop & change mentality of a Chelsea, they won't have the success. Bringing in young players, developing them and having long-term goals and plans. Aye if he went 3 seasons without a trophy he would probably get scked. But finish 4th and 3rd with an FA Cup would see him be given more time. Basically, he'll got longer than Scolari/Ancelotti etc. They won't start panicking over finishing 3rd or something. Saying that, I don't think Moyes is the man for the job but he can still do a decent one in the short-term and prove himself perhaps in the long-term. Against popular opinion, I don't think a lot of great managers "just are". I think they need the time and patience to develop. Moyes has learnt everything he will with Everton. Will be interesting to see if he can learn and adapt to this challenge. I don't think he has the ability now but if given the time and resources? I don't know. However, like Pardew he's a bit of a coward tactically. But with SAF to help out, he can be told to be more pro-active.
  15. If you think they'll sack him after finishing 3rd, you don't know anything about Manchester United. They gave Ron Atkinson 5 years. Man Utd.'s competitive advantage lie in the success of synergy and a long-term approach.
  16. He'll be given a number of years, unless they finish 5th or something.
  17. The difference between the sides was one had a striker playing well. That earned Spurs a draw and lost Chelsea the 3 points. Torres ffs.
  18. They don't in the middle. Luiz and Ramires are so much quicker than Parker/Huddlestone it's unreal. Exposing Parker/Huddlestone lack of technical ability in tight spaces.
  19. They've been average every time i've seen them with the exception of Bale. Chelsea need another goal as they will tire.
  20. Struggling to keep up with the pace if anything. Luiz-Ramires-Mata-Oscar-Hazard are faster than them, fitter than them and the middle two are arguably stronger. Also helps that they are better footballers.
  21. Ramires is one of the most under-rated players in the league. Vital part of Chelsea getting to the CL final and winning the FA Cup.
