Looked a little rusty. Was nice to have the left footed passing angles though.

There was one cross late in the game from the right. He wasn’t even in the box.

Thought he looked tired today. Think he could’ve done with the 30 minute rest.

Lots of complaints tonight. But that was a typical Miggy performance and one of his better ones in recent weeks. -
Trippier was having a good game tbf. And he’s not playing on Sat. It felt like 2 super odd subs. Probably pre-planned.

On the balance of play we lose all the away games comfortably. Could’ve conceded 3 in all of them without complaints. 3 home games. Excellent in 1. Poor in another. And a bit Jekyll and Hyde in the last. Saying all of that. I am proud of the lads. In the end a bad decision and 3 poor halves of football at home ultimately cost us. And we are playing against 3 very decent sides. It’s been so fun and I hope we get back into it next season.

I’ve been saying the same thing for weeks about him. He looks awful physically/mentally. Doesn’t play with any fire or intensity. Doesn’t look physically capable of intensity. I think it’s a case of carrying an injury or struggling immensely with his stamina.

This is fair. The phrase ‘bottling it’ is rattling people. I do think the determining factor in this game was between the ears of the players/fans. Whatever you want to call it is fine.

When you see they score with their first shot on target and it goes through Dubs legs…. You do think.. ‘man i think Pope saves that’.
-
I definitely think we looked nervous 6 minutes into the second half. We started making several unforced errors that we didn’t make in the first half. The crowd seemed nervous too. I don’t want to debate the merits of ‘bottling it’. But the quality of decision making dropped drastically in the second half. A lot of that will be down to the occasion. i think physical fatigue was a big factor too. Quality of GK in particular had a huge impact in key moments. But I think the game was largely won/lost between the ears of each team. When we burst through the middle Musa dragged our lad down. When ol boy burst through the middle, Bruno and Isak just watched him.

‘Bottled it’ is perhaps a simplification. But we got worse together mentally in the second half where Milan were resolute. That was one of the main factors in the loss.

1-0 up at home. Looked the better side. The away side didn’t even perform that much better in the second half. I think it’s fair to say that we lost it. Is it not? At the top level you can’t separate the physical and the mental and I think it all played a part. Look at Giroud’s composure when it mattered.
-
I agree we could’ve been a bit smarter. Milan used all their experience, nous and incisiveness. And we looked we behind the ears and nervous at times.
-
Dubravka has an unlucky habit of being nutmegged for goals. While Pope has the habit of making saves with his feet. I don’t think we concede as many goals as we have in the last 3 with Pope. I don’t think that’s a controversial statement.
-
I think we were tired. We lost something ourselves. But what he described… is bottling it.
-
Defending a 1-1 draw when a winner gets you into the next round is loser talk. We could’ve attacked with more nous. But we did need to score.
-
This is a nice way to say we bottled it.
-
Both were brilliant in parts. And really bad in parts.
-
I want to blame fatigue for the second half performance. But I feel like we bottled it.

He brings a lot to the table. He also lacks quality. -

I think he’s limited. But given that as a fact and a known quantity I think he did well today. Aye he should’ve scored but he’s Miggy. He did a good Miggy performance. Great work rate. Largely decent on the ball. -
Was largely brilliant today but I think he looked really fatigued by the end. He was most culpable for the 2nd goal. I think he was too tired to foul the lad. That’s his only excuse. So poor letting dude run past him.

Our MOTM. Top lad. Please do the same against Fulham.

It was a very weird time to take off Tripps tbf.
