  1. Co-com is annoying. Burn played the player onside. Not the CBs
  2. That one I had to look up. I thought someone else did it just before Bale but thought it was Hazard for some reason.
  3. Same. \ Aye. This is why I say not getting top 4 now would be a big disappointment. We've shown that form for 16 months and then fallen away when it really mattered. We have strengths and weaknesses but I do consider us a genuine top side this season in the same manner I don't consider Chelsea a top side this season. We've earned it on the pitch, they have not. That's why even if we don't beat Brighton, I still expect us to get 6 points from the remaining 2 fixtures. We'll target 9. And get them.
  4. If Liverpool performed to their levels, Chelsea, Spurs etc. we are probably a little further away. Just in terms of points gained if anything else. At least 9 from those lot and we may end up with 12. And ultimately if we fall short, only getting 7 or so points from the actual top 6 teams will be a big factor as to why we didn't get over the line.
  5. We've underperfromed Xg but I think a large part of that is from set-piece headers which is a personnel thing. I expected Schar to score more from a set-piece by now. Hit the post at least twice.
  6. Gareth Bale did it too iirc.
  7. This I agree with fully. Schar hasn't got his plaudits at all. Sven has gotten all of them. It feeds into the "Newcastle have bought success" narrative as if Botman has been the VVD to Schar's Gomez. Being you and English, the likes of Willock have avoided that fate.
  8. Big gap there like. Luiz 50 caps for Brazil, played a decade at the highest level in Europe, starting CB for multiple league titles, FA Cups and ran deep in the CL for that time, winning it once and playing excellently that year. Morata - was never a key starting man for a top side. But he contributed to multiple league titles, CL finals etc. scored at like 3 major international tournaments. Surely 50+ caps for Spain and a decent goalscorer at that level. Then there's Jermaine Jenas. League Cup winner. Played for Spurs and has suddenly remembered playing for Newcastle United in the CL
  9. Can play behind in the Yorke role.
  10. This is factually incorrect. And not the mindset we need. It's not make or break.
  11. I would do this. Howe? He's going super Newcastle I'm certain. It scares me but it is what it is.
  12. I would be shocked if Tchou was sold in the summer. They won't give up on him that quickly.
  13. They looked better with Camavinga in midfield. Tchoumeni will need to step up next season. Benzema will be the hardest to replace.
  14. If he don’t work hard enough for Simeone, Howe won’t want him
  15. He’s not going anywhere. He’s only just started….
  16. 7 is the minimum of acceptable form to me. 6 points in 5 games is bottom half form.
  17. 2nd (home), 17th (away), 6th (home), 19th (home), 11th (away). A team vying for 3rd/4th not getting 7 points from that is a collapse. A good team in good form would look to get 7-10 points from that. 6 or less is a collapse.
  18. & @froggy's lot. From memory, we've given out a higher number of postings. But they've had 2 gigantic ones.
  19. CL will further legitimise the project worldwide. Help get us better commercial deals. Attract a higher calibre of player. All of which will help to increase the leash on FFP. The project's legitimacy is why we already have the likes of Botman, Bruno & Isak. The CL opens another calibre of player up. No it's not.
