  1. Only 2 or 3 clubs could afford Messi. Messi embodies everything that is wrong about PSG.
  2. I didn't think the form of last seasons 19 games was replicable. Then I didn't think we could sustain our first half of the seasons form that was largely dependent on Almiron. Now we have Isak, Wilson firing, Joelinton scoring, options from the bench. We have goals.
  3. I think we are currently a top 4 team. We have genuine class in key areas in the pitch and a team that is playing to each individuals strengths. All we have to do is maintain our level and it will be comfortable. Before the final game of the season we face 2 bad teams that have been awful all season long - 1 at home, 1 away. We face 2 really good teams but we are at home. And then a team in freefall at the end of the season. IMO that's 6-9 points at worst. At best 10-13 points. Worst case scenario we have as many points as Liverpool's best case scenario. We're nice. IMO we get points on Sunday anyway.
  4. Yeh we have. Under SBR both top 4 finishes were wrapped up before the last day iirc.
  5. And Man City at 85. They've averaged 89-90 points in the last 6 seasons.
  6. I swear last summer people were telling me we could get better value than Raphinha for 60m. I was all for it.
  7. We're winning games comfortably. We need 7 points to be certain, 5 will probably do it but we look like we could get 10.
  8. Weren't you not so hot on Raphinha last summer or am I confusing you?
  9. So their net spend was closer to Everton, Liverpool & Arsenal than Manchester United in 5th. Since 2021 i'm sure Arsenal have surpassed Real Madrid's net spend. I bet Real's revenue is top 3 though and much closer to Man Utd than Everton and Arsenal.
  10. I've watched 2 of Liverpool's last 3 games. Thy're winning. I'm more confident that they'll drop points now than I was a week ago. They've been lucky.
  11. That is tosh. You can look at their transfer record over the last decade. The net spend wouldn’t be in Europe’s top 5 but their revenues would. You keep saying they are in a similar financial predicament to Barcelona. They are not. They have invested in a serious revenue driver. Barcelona have not.
  12. I would love for Brighton & Liverpool to drop points before Arsenal as that would mean a win basically secures CL football. 16:30 Sunday fixture the crowd willl be rocking with that on the line.
  13. Didn't really get nerves. I didn't think it would happen until suddenly we had 9 points from 9 against Man U, West Ham and Brentford. Then it was.. well if we beat Spurs.... then it's ours to lose.
  14. Yes.... because they've spent 1bn euros on renovating the stadium. Not because of spending 1bn on transfers and crazy wages. Barcelona have pulled levers.... to sign 30+ year old players.
  15. For 1 season. Harrison has put up decent numbers every season he's been in the PL.
  16. They've spent less than us these last 2 seasons. Might be close to breaking even in that period. They've been smart by using their prestige to sign elite free agents and the best young players on the planet. They've not bought an elite player in their prime since Hazard.
  17. That's where I have him. I think he suits our style a bit better than yours imo.
  18. I don’t think he’s world class. I don’t think he’s better than Rodrygo let alone Vini Jr. level. Who would be in for him at 65m?
  19. Maybe. Every Chelsea player has stunk this season. And he was good at the World Cup. If he still has it and is not looking for astronomical wages. I want him. Don’t know if he does still have it.
  20. No. The same stats im using have Harrison as middling (vs other wingers). Raphinha - love him as player but he’s not worth £80m. Giving them back the £60m they paid is fair. 65m as a gesture is fine. Not worth a penny more. A lot of his creativity comes from set plays. While he’s good for a few worldies he’s not a composed finisher. I also expect he’s on astronomical wages. £65m x 175k max imo.
  21. You’re effectively discounting 30 years of actual history though. They’ve been a bigger club than Spurs for pretty much the entire duration of the PL era. There’s an idea that they were nothing pre-Abramovic and that’s not true. They were in the champions league and won multiple trophies. A trajectory higher than Spurs for sure.
  22. Aye. His rumoured wages are something we could pay. Good age. Experience. Would be looking at £30m-£40m Max due to contract position. Kante has never been ‘purely a defensive midfielder’. He gets around the entire pitch. Passes and moves. Carries the ball forward l, dominates the game. A better version of Declan Rice current game. But his wages are astronomical and if he’s looking to get paid similar then he has to go to Juve, PSG, Atleti type clubs.
  23. What I can find from his stats aren't the most impressive.
