And this was with Burn being awful at LB for months. And Hall not getting any minutes. Thats why I can’t give Eddie props for the introduction. His hand was forced and Hall was excellent. Hall was poor in his fleeting chances aye. But Burn was poor for months and kept his place. But alls well that ends well. He’s got a fantastic career ahead of him.

Agreed. A lot of it is confidence too. Last season he scored today’s goal multiple times (City and Sheff U spring to mind). I think he’s been practicing this for a long time and today it came off. Excellent goal.

Don’t rate the Amorim hire. Think clubs like Man U should avoid heavily - formation based managers or ones with specialist styles.

The added quality in midfield has transformed the team. He’s brought what he always should have brought. Power and athleticism but also ability and leadership. The looseness with the ball at times was something that was always going to happen. It happened at Milan. But his strengths make up for it and he can improve over time. It’s this looseness on the ball which is the main reason he wasn’t on City or similars radar.

They let Ten Hag ruin what was a decent squad under Ole. Solid back 5 + McFred then 4 killers up top was great for them.

Don’t agree here. Howe got a lot right last season and made some mistakes. I think not reintroducing Hall back into the squad a little earlier may have gotten us the extra 3 points we needed to qualify for Europe. But it’s a minor detail in the grand scheme of things. I’m not buying this ‘Eddie played a blinder’. It was only injuries that made Howe start Hall towards the end of last season. If Eddie had rightly introduced Hall 3-4 weeks earlier,there’s a good chance Hall goes to the euros. But alls well that ends well. Hall is an absolute baller and he’s cemented himself as a Howe purple.
