Fucking disgrace. Free transfer as well. I don't buy any of this shite about him wanting to go for family reasons either, he quite simply is not a TCA type player. best of luck Nobby, all we have to look forward to no is a team of robots who can do long throw ins.

Bentley and Young... and Heskey in the England squad - oh and Lescott
ujpest doza replied to Dave's topic in Football
Bentley should not be in the England squad. Big time charlie who thinks the U21's is beneath him. -
you know a girl called Alix? Second name Cox?

The Paedo one was shite and old hat, but i think the shoe bomber one was fucking hilarious and it was actually Private Eye Magazine who pointed out the resemblance between Mido and Richard Reid the Shoe Bomber which is where the chants come from. Fuck all to do with him being an Arab, a Moslem, a bit on the dark side, Egyptian or whatever. I think the right on PC brigade want to get themselves a life and accept that a bit of piss taking and banter always have been and should always still be part and parcel of football chanting/wind ups.

Milburn Level 7 is £40 FFS and this is a cat B game, goes up to £45 for Mackems, Man utd, Libpool etc. I'll be surprised if there are many less than 52K in the ground come kick off, but the prices are sky high and the game is live on tv at a not too clever kick off time, particularly for exiles travelling by train.

That's my point exactly, members off here say that we're clueless and yet i have just shown that we're not as clueless as you think. I know for a fact that the real fans have always been behind both the goals, the Leazes was where the REAL fans used to go, when that used to be our singing end in the 70's and 80's during the days of football violence. But i want to stress that i don't mean the hooligans, i mean the passionate/loud fans. In the early 90's the singers had moved out of the Gallowgate and into the Milburn Stand seats at the Leazes End overlooking what at the time was the away fans pen.

Performances on the pitch go a long way to dictating the atmosphere, as do the logisitics of the ground. Back in the 80's and early 90's (looked at with rose tinted specs by many i think) when the ground was open at both ends, rarely full and the team was shit the atmosphere also was usually shit. There were a few young uns in the corner of the Gallowgate singing and a few Young uns in the Scoreboard section of the Gallowgate singing as well. Due to there not being that many of them and there also being no roof they were barely audible at the other end of the ground. The atmosphere picked up when we ran away with the First Division title in 1992/93 and at this time (and for a few years after that as well) the majority of the singing actually came from the Milburn Stand in the corner towards the Leazes End not from any of the standing areas which i think dispells the myth about the end of standing being the cause of lack of atmosphere. The atmosphere was maintained and even improved with the building of the new stands at the Leazes and Gallowgate ends meaning the whole ground was covered (at the sameish height) and the noise was deflected back intop the ground rather than up in the air. Extending the ground to 52K did however have a negative effect on the atmosphere. The "Singing" corner of the Milburn (of which i was part) became a corporate area and everyone who sat there was moved to other parts of the ground, mainly Level 7 Milburn, but not all sat together like previously. Also at that time the performances on the field of play dropped dramatically and we were utter shit for about 4 seasons running which again hinders the atmosphere. The logistics of the ground now also mean that the lop sidedness of the ground means it is no longer as enclosed and a lot of noise created in the Leazes End and Milburn Stands just goes up in the air rather than reverberating around the ground. Certain games have still produced excellent atmospheres in the newly developed ground however, but these have been when there has been something at stake and the team have played out of their skins as well eg Chelsea at home last day of the 2005/06 season when we had to win to secure 7th spot and the atmosphere in the 2nd half was the best i've known for years. A winning team playing attractive, exciting football is what will "Bring back the noise" to SJP as that is what always lifted the atmosphere in the past.

Lad on Toontastic was telling how he was in Tiger Tiger having his tea last night when some pissed Celtic ned outside wanders over, and starts pissing up against the window right next to where he's sitting eating. He assumes that it must be like one way glass or something, checks when he gets outside, and nope, the filthy fucking tramp will have known that everyone in the place could see him. I know what you mean though, they're like fucking dirty animals. Yesterday dinnertime as i was walking down Barrack Road a 30 seater mini bus was disembarking a load of Celtic Charvas at the bottom of Pitt Street where the Magpie Club used to be. One of them had the decency to leg it over the road to the public bogs at the bottom of barrack Road while the rest just lobbed it out and pissed in full view in the wasteland that used to be The Magpie and is now a match day car park. One of them was pissing up against a Ford Escort in that car park. This bus looked like a youth club outing as it was all charvers, lads and lasses in their teens and early 20's. The lamp posts further up barrack road had all been christened as well next to the buses.

Ain't The Terminus now called Keanos? No idea and I'm not about to find out! Fuck that. Rumour i've heard from a few different sources that it has been refurbished and renamed Keanos, which will obviously have gone down like a lead balloon with the clientele.

You must have walked around with your eyes shut yesterday then. There were falling off their buses on Barrack Road pissed up and pissing in the street and puking up at 1.15PM yesterday when i had walk past the ground and a rep that came in here said he'd seen some on Dean Street falling about in the middle of the road trying to retrieve the contents of one of thems overnight bag that had been thrown intot he middle of the road and spilled its contents. Both Glasgow Clubs fans have a much higher percentage of total wankers than any other clubs in Great Britain and treat trips to England for Friendlies like a re-enactment of Bannockburn. Glad to see some pubs had the good sense to ban them last night.

Notice from that picture that the Magpie Mover ticket has gone up to £12.50. Still a Bargain mind.
-
Its £50, lad on Skunkers phoned up and asked.

It did make me wary of continuing as it has conflicting info. I may subscribe to Setanta in time for the season starting so that i see the Boro game and then cancel after the month is up and restart Sky Sports as i think we are at home for most of the Setanta games anyway.
-
Mine came today as well, but wor lass says it is a book of tickets like it usually is. Mind even though its in front of her she is likely to be wrong.
-
Says 12 months in the small print found here mind : https://subscribe.setanta.servecast.com/setanta/popup_terms_sat.html
-
Do you mean i'm talking shite and have misread their subscription page of their website or they are shite for only allowing a minimum 12 month contract?
-
Is that Freeview? If so you can phone them up to subscribe.
-
Games beamed back from abroad usually aren't as they are transmitted using the host TV station facilities. Games in the UK usually are in widescreen though. I haven't made my mind up yet whether to get Setanta or Skysports. I cancelled Skysports at the end of last season to save a bit of cash in the summer and dunno now whether i can actually afford to switch it back on. Setanta is cheaper at £9.99 per month, but i would be tied in to a 12 month contract whereas with Sky i would only be tied in for 30 days as an existing subscriber. As a ST holder i'm obviously not arsed which home games are on so it is really our away games and the other sports/games shown which will determine which i plump for (if any if i can get them on my pc for nowt).
-
Possibly Nudge over 25K possibly 30K for Celtic 20K each for Juve and Sampdoria - Remeber PSV and Villareal last season. Also bear in mind all are live on setanta and no one really gives a flying fuck about pre season friendlies.

Dyer given permission to talk to West Ham, fee agreed
ujpest doza replied to iklgizmo's topic in Football
Dyer costs us £4M a year in wages and has not improved as a player since he signed for us. He is a charlatan and can fuck off for next to nowt for me because of how much we will save in wages. -
How can Man U stop Liverpool then? aren't the club powerless if a bid matches the release clause? The release clause is apparently higher, but Man Utd sent a letter to his agent saying they would listen to offers over £6M

Would believe Albert before this Ikey fella. ikey is just taking the piss, Albert doesn't post shite and lives in Newmarket which is of course near Stansted.
