McClean elbowed Sissoko first half near the Leazes, 2 footed him on the halfwayline touchline 2nd half (but played the ball) and then went head to head with him after Olson fouled Mitrovic and then shouted at him. He's an odious twat and should have seen at least yellow never mind red.

Except he's as brave as the cowardly lion from the wizard of oz. Failing to slide and prevent a corner in case he collided with the corner flag summed him up and that side foot to Foster from 30 yards was woeful too. he loves a 30 yard run at pace carrying the ball so it looks like he's done something but fails miserably at actually beating a man or scoring a goal or crossing the ball to a team mate.

Apart from the shot that hit the post I don't understand why people are raving about him. I didn't think he was poor but he wasn't great either.

He had a very good game today and after some of the other niggly fouls the ref blew for I can't believe he got away with knocking Anichebe flying on the halfwayline in the first half.

He surprised me today, was very good and I loved his shoulder barge on gardner on the byeline.

What makes you think he refused to go wide left? Maybe he was just following instructions. 'Refused' might have been the wrong word, I just mean his instincts aren't to stick out wide and stretch the game. At a few points Janmaat, Townsend and Sissoko were all playing on the right at the same time. And getting in each others way anarl.

Awful miss. Don't understand rushing Doumbias visa through and then not putting him on. I think he would have scored that chance. We don't create enough chances to be missing them like that. That said, I do like Mitrovic and do like his link up play and general nuisance value, but he's got be putting chances like that away.
