  1. Good post, even if he is backup he'll get a lot of games. Wouldn't be against him being a starter if we don't buy anyone. IMO we are able to keep possession much better when Guthrie is playing, especially in 3 man midfield. I agree with this. Also, his injury record isn't that great and so I don't believe he is cut out to play 30+ games a season. In effect, even if he moved somewhere to be a "starter" he wouldn't play the number of games that warrants through injury.
  2. This is pretty much how I feel about England these days. I'll still follow them closely but the number of pricks that are in the team has basically meant that my passion for England has declined. The sooner a/the new generation of players get into the team, the better. I dont even bother with England anymore. A couple of reasons: 1) I don't feel very English being from Newcastle. Lets face it, to almost all "England" is London and a circle of about 100 miles around the capital. We have more in common with Scotland than England. 2) The refereeing at the World Cup is such a low standard that the games are a farce. I find the games almost unwatchable, as the outcome is more about the ref than the teams.
  3. Our remaining fixtures look more difficult than both Arsenal & Spurs. We have a shot at the CL, but even the Europa would be a great achievement.
  4. Just the latest target of the "boo-boys" Formerly Williamson and before that Perch. Always has to be someone, eh, lads. We need a bigger squad next year and he should be part of it. If we manage to get into the Europa or better we will need the likes of Simpson, Williamson, Perch, Guthrie. Had no problem with his performance yesterday. Would obviously like us to get a FB who can offer more going forward, but Simpson being reasonably solid defensively has helped us get to where we are. Would be happy to see him stay if his wage demands aren't ridiculous. There must be some sticking point. I'm wondering if the club view him (and his future wages) as a squad player and he views himself as higher/better than that. Maybe the club already have in view another player to share the RB spot, so don't want to overpay.

  6. I like the one with the (I think arabic commentator)..... sounds like...... Ben Affa, Ben Affa, Ben Affa, Ben Affa, Ben Affa...... Goaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll!
  7. Wow, there really is some crazy s**t on there, and they say we have unreasonably high expectations.
  8. They need to kiss and make up. Ba will come good again, going through a dip in form right now and now is the time for Pardew to do some +ve man management
  9. It goes something like.... Reporter: "Messi wants to sign for the Mackems" Mackem: "Nah, I'd rather have Lee Cattermole, much better".
  10. They know he won't pass to him. Simpson did a couple of overlaps but didnt get the ball
  11. Ba and Cisse both breaking the same way and making same runs. Need Ba back out on the left and HBA right, 4-3-3
  12. With that hair? And that car? Takes a real man to drive around in that thing and wear that hair, could you carry it off? I see your point
  13. This is a classic trap game. We need to be composed and patient and NOT let them get the 1st goal... otherwise they will try and shut up shop, park 5 in midfield and frustrate us.
  14. I though he should have been given a straight red in the first half. On the slow motion Sagna's leg looked like it was bent in half. Amazed he wasn't seriously injured.
  15. Surely not? I know I was dumbfounded myself. Basically saying he couldn't understand the reception Carroll got last week and he was forced out and didn't go for the money. Aye, righto. Carllol: I'm a loyal Geordie and I never want to play for anyone else. Agent: They are going to triple your wages and earn 90 grand a week Carllol: Where do I sign?
  16. I don't feel sorry for him at all. He is a prize idiot. "Why is it always Me?" Because you are a complete D**K that's why.

    LOL at Lolro

What is his obsession with Wolves?
  18. Seems up for it, he should make it if he keeps the current form going.
  19. Plainly ridiculous statement. He may be no Maldini but he's a decent player defensively especially. A full back standing by the post and blocking shots/headers is not luck.
  20. He wouldn't get in our team, not even at his best. This may be true. If we wish to kick on and try and break into the top 4, maybe so. When he was with us he was obviously still developing. This appears to have stopped... who knows if he would have kept improving if he had stayed.
  21. Part of Andy Carroll's success seems to have been the motivation for playing for his home town club. Unfortunately, he himself seems to have failed to have recognized this. I wouldn't be averse to taking him back at a much reduced fee, I think he could re-discover his form and be happier all round.
