By saying he was impressive against Bolton and Everton? Yeah, high praise. Arsenal too, btw. Arsenal, the game where the team was non-existant for 65 of the 85+- minutes he was on the field? Really?
-
Can't really see the point in selling him even if £4million is decent money for him.
-
Incredible. Fuckin' hell Ronaldo. You're right, he was the best player on the pitch against Bolton, completely outshone everyone and got us 3 points. Same against Everton where we were the clear winners that day with Best being best on the pitch. Happy?

He won me over not so much by the statistics of 6 in 9, but his overall play. I think he looks like a decent centre forward, has good feet, works his bollocks off, gets into good positions and makes a nuiscance of himself. Things that can't be said for any of the rest of our current rabble. It's not like he's just managed to get a few lucky goals. His general play has been impressive, too. We complain that Ranger puts himself about well but never gets a goal, when we get a player that can we say that he's still probably not good enough and it was a purple patch. I'd be more than happy to persevere with Best, that's for sure. Actually disagree on the point that his general play has been impressive. To be honest, he's looked very average in his general play apart from the Birmingham match where he didn't lose a header (didn't see the West Ham match tbh). However, against Sunderland and the other teams he looked average to poor in his general play, £4million is a very good fee, however, I still think we should take the risk and see if he can perform under a longer time. Not saying he's s***, just think people are overestimating his ability. There must be a reason why the club would want to sell (if they now really do). You must have missed the Bolton and Everton games too then. Or you're biased against the lad and have been from the start. Shame. Might be the other way around too though, because from what you say it seems Leon is the next Pele. But honestly, like I said, I believe we should take the risk with him since I think he might start to get involved more if he gets more games under his belt. But to say his general play has been impressive when it hasn't is wrong. He's been very average in his general play (maybe not if you compare him to Loven who is absolute rubbish) but he has scored the goals which a striker should be judged on. Have my doubts if he can keep on doing it, but hope he will (if he stays). And he was nowhere near impressive against Everton or Bolton.

Not really. Martins was a shit finisher and could only run and score the occasional incredible goal. Demba Ba looks strong, composed and like he gets into the necessary spaces. Still can't see the club only having him as a reinforcement upfront.

Ban, Shola should never leave he's SHOLA ffs.

I like Ranger to the extent I prefer him over Loven. But that's all really. £1million for him would be a no-brainer at the moment.

Was about to write the exact same thing

Don't know if its been said but its like we got rid of Nolan for DemBa (see what I did there?) and another £3 - 4,5 million
-
Excellent fucking signing, lets hope his knees don't fuck up in the first match. HBA, Ba, Cabaye, Gosling all of them are like new signings and we've only gotten rid of Nolan thus far. Great.

PLEASE ALL READ - Premier League Fixtures (DON'T POST THEM)
Flip replied to ToonTastic's topic in Football
Honestly you can't copyright fixtures can ya? Also i've never heard anyone getting done for posting fixtures and why wouldn't we just use fake names or hell lets buy it. Who's in? -
7 goals in 12 matches is pretty class to be honest. And lets not forget its still mid june ffs. Have another 2 months before the league starts. Calm the fuck down.

I'm not pissed at all. While Nolan has been a wonderful servant for this club and I still can't deny I'm quite pleased with the sale. Nolan scored 12 goals and was massive for us but it feels like someone at the club agrees that he's a player who would have kept us in the PL every year but we wouldn't push for a top 8 place. This year has been very weird and I doubt we'd been 3 minutes from top 10 had it not been so ridiculously incosistent. I wish him all the best, and think he will be great there. Happy we got a pretty good amount for a 29 year old who would most probably have walked on a free in two years time and who doesn't contribute as much as many people on here think he does in footballing terms.
-
happy with that if true though i'm worried that metudi could pave the way for tiote's 15mill move to chelsea. Nah, Matuidi will pave way for the sale of Barton not Tiote. Tiote - Mautidi Cabaye top 7 midfield if they can adapt and click fastly.
-
Feel this is the right move. Nolan popped up in the right places and is very good at finding spaces. But feel for a team like us, we need different kind of players than Nolan who makes little impact when not scoring. Hope the sum is good enough though, anything less than £4,5 million is a joke.
-
Nah, we wont win in Argentina. No way.
-
Cabaye, he was the captain at Lille
-
Sky Sports article........... it says he wants an improved 5 year deal. That's where it breaks for me. With that he wants more money and another year on his contract. Fucking hell, Nolan will help us stabilize as a Premier League team in the two coming years but I hope that after that we'll be looking at breaking into top 7 and Nolan will never be good enough for such a push. Should take his 3 year extension and shove it up his arse.
-
TBF all except Carrol and Henderson actually had at least a whole very good season, even Milner.
-
With Tiote sitting deeper i reckon he'll be much more creative in a more offensive role than he had tonight. Tiote a la Busquets Cabaye a la Xavi or Xabi Barton a la Xavi or Iniesta GOLD.
-
I prefer Benzema and Ribery. Should've signed the for £4,3 million.
-
MOTM no doubt. Best player on the pitch #nufcisBEST

Just remember how much we got for Martins and Bassong when we went down and add it to the Carroll money. About £50 Million for them 3 Can't remember what fee we got for Martins, but whatever it was it must have been good. However, Bassong was our best player that season and deserved a good fee to leave especially since he's young. Carroll money is ridiculous and still think it is, no debate on that front though but still £42m million on a good goalscorer and a average midfielder is also whack. But true, we got £35m for Carroll
