    Alan Pardew

Interesting article, esp. "He was always a bit of a scatterbrain, turning up late for training and that sort of thing." Seems he was not too dissimilar to Ranger in terms of timekeeping at one stage himself.
  2. Puzzled me somewhat how Keegan never saw the player we all do, at least it seemed he didn't have much faith/confidence in him at the time. Don't know what he thinks about him now.
  3. Don't know what's up with the lad but if he recaptures his form it's
  4. Can't disagree with that, as much as some part of me feels I should.
  5. 36 fucking pages on the transfer of a Sunderland player; and quite a few of the posters reckon they're obsessed with us.
  6. Think he needs to reread it personally, it's a valid observation.
  7. Pinaear was pretty anonymous last time he played against us.
  8. Steve has my full backing and will always be manager /kiss of death.
  9. Still waiting for the day when a footballer gives an honest answer as to why he moved instead of the usual worn out clichés.
  10. Like to know the ins and outs of that one some day, there was definitely something going on.

First interview of his I've listened to without feeling something negative, guess I'm coming round to him too.

Get in! As surprised and delighted as most others in this thread.

Chris Hughton's replacement is Alan Pardew. What are your thoughts on this appointment? (Poll locked 17th December) Delighted - 12 (2%) Happy - 5 (0.8%) Not bothered - 21 (3.4%) Unhappy - 85 (13.8%) Disgusted - 491 (80%) What are your thoughts one month on? Would you change your vote?
  14. It's one of the many things this club need to change. Well, its only really started to happen again this season/since Beardsley took charge. I was wondering earler today what the reasoning behind it was, anyone know? (It makes no sense from what I can see.)
  15. I was going to reply to this thread until I read this post, now I have nothing to add to what was said.

I'd be well happy with Adel Taarabt for Routledge.
  17. They're 8 points ahead of us after 22 games, it's not a huge gulf. Still can't see us winning it though.

  19. That's a bit stupid, when most of our signings have turned out to be very good. It doesn't stop it from being true, and apart from Tiote who would you say was "very good" without qualifying it with "for the price"? Best Routledge Xisco Shall I carry on? I wouldn't say any of them are very good, decent might be more fitting.. and you missed out a certain young frenchman that would qualify.
  20. Those Cardiff fans seem to think Routledge would be going in the opposite direction, though I don't know where that came from as there was no link to anything that I could see.

I don't think that is necessarily accurate, he may have simply wanted to win and put out the strongest team available to him. We can argue that was not the wisest course, and certainly hindsight allows us to do that. I don't have much faith in them (the back-ups) though, and I daresay you don't either, so there may well be an element of truth.
