  1. Ask yourself why a young sought after player would come to here? First team opportunities probably, if they were guaranteed..
  2. Must admit if it turned out to be us my jaw would drop a fair distance.
  3. The 10m he quoted as saying was available might have been a guess-timate based on player sales. I'd like it to mean there's 18m too, but it's not necessarily so.
  4. Going down is less likely now than it was just 48hrs ago, and it wouldn't be the end of the world even if it might feel like it. What concerns me the most is surviving only to face another season like this one. Can the Ashley 'vision' widen a bit to give more thought to first team and management structure, or will it still focus on future profit (youth) and counting pennies?
  5. Could prove to be a very good move in both short and long term; and considering a couple of days ago it was looking like we might get no-one I can't see how anyone would feel negative about this.
  6. Probably the reverse. might make them think again like.
  7. Might just be the tip of the iceberg,, half the dressing room could feel same way about Kinnear for all we know. Judging by the half-hearted way they play sometimes it's not like they're having any fun. Or maybe once he's gone the whole dressing room will breathe a sigh of relief, who knows.
  8. I don't reckon it would make any difference who we signed now, they can't help us. Team confidence is too low, new players wouldn't lift us, they would quickly be pulled down too. I'd like to disagree, I just can't.
  9. You mean the club needs an established 'name', because arguably Martinez is a top coach just waiting for the right job. Considering all the disasterous managerial appointments the club has made in the past, all to frequently trying just that, I would think a fresh approach would be welcome.
  10. Get him in. The players would respect him I'm sure because he'd have them playing football rather than kick & hope.
  11. Good manager makes the team, but you still need some pretty influential cogs on the pitch. We've got no Robert, no Speed, no Shearer, nor anyone like them - and no manager really.
  12. Explains how we're playing so crap, if the manager is behind the squad in training every day.
  13. That's fucking terrible news, very serious. Getting a midfielder in is now even more important than ever - and yet is unlikely to make a difference, one player, no matter how good, will quickly succumb to the air of pessimism at the club currently. In short, we are fucked.
  14. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/paulfletcher/2009/01/huddersfield_hoping_to_paint_l.html#053435 Just reading the above blog about Steve Black and the setup down at Huddersfield, with Lee Clarke and Derek Fazackerley, and found myself quite envious. What a state we are in by comparison. A league one outfit appearing to be more professionally run than a premier league one. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/paulfletcher/leeclark438.jpg

    Kinnear Out

Those comments kinnear has just come out with are as good as saying he can't fix it. He's only been here about 12 weeks and he's making all the noises of a man admitting defeat - 'but it's not my fault'. IF it's all designed to get some movement out of the Ashley system then I wish him luck, but he's not sounding too clever to me.
  17. Yes, we are in dire straits and either people don't recognise what they are seeing or are refusing to acknowledge it. Relegation is a very real prospect. A month ago the middle of the table had us only 3 or 4 points off 5th or 6th place and about 8pts clear of bottom. That picture has changed radically with the top 7 putting daylight between them and the middle. 20th - 12th, 3 pts seperate them all and absolutley any 3 of those 9 clubs could go down.
  18. Not much wrong with the players tbh, sure they could be better but how many teams couldn't find a better player or two. Pretty much the same players went toe to toe witn ManU and gave a very good account of themselves opening day. So the problem is with the players belief in themselves and their ability to function as a team. The buck therefore stops with JFK but there are other extenuating circumstances - such as the rudderless ship that NUFC appears to be right now, and sadly, if it carries on much longer, could soon be more like the Marie Celeste.

    Kinnear Out

Before you can remove the splinter from your brothers eye you must first remove the branch from your own.
  20. I wonder how much this club has paid out in compensation to all these 'wrong' appointments in the past. A sickening amount probably.

    Allardyce!

Apart from the fact that even Ashley wants to watch entertaining football.
  22. Sounds like it would make a good film script, they could call it 'Goal' or something simple.
