  1. Shelvey is somewhat limited in some areas, but with stronger players around him surely the same applies to him - that he'd be better.
  2. Sanity prevails. (For what its worth I have despised the Saudi's religous intolerance and support of terrorism throughout the region but that has fuck all to do with a nations investment portfolio which, as others have pointed out, I have zero control over).
  3. Its simple to stop arguing though. Just stop. It would be a very strange world if we all held the same opinions. The problem is people relentlessly repeating their position as if the other person didn't get it. People don't change opinions that easy. As Thomas suggested - breathe in, breathe out.
  4. It's absolutely relevant as they (Amnesty Int.) are being presented as the flagbrearer of moral standards. Beyond that, and it has been mentioned numerous times already, turning the focus on the fans and dumping the dilemna on them is duplicitous by the entire media and Twitter loons, (although you cannot expect anything else from Twitter). People who live in glass houses..
  5. Link? I don't necessarily doubt it but would like to see for myself.
  6. Just occured to me that with the Rueben Bros involved they may have land (and plans) earmarked already.
  7. A breath of fresh air in an age of "whataboutisms". Actual genuine insight.
  8. We really were in for him weren't we, or was it just Douglas Hall saying who he'd like. Can't remember.
  9. It is always cheaper to build new than to try and rebuild existing structures. I'd hate it, on an emotional level, if we lost that iconic site. I like the idea of glass not cutting out light but when you walk down Leazes Terrace the stand is already an omnipresent looming force without being even bigger. (Shrug, I'm not an architect).
  10. I've got half a mind to place my next three mortgage payments on Rafa being in place August. The other half says "Fuck that you stupid twat!"
  11. Well done by the way Greg, you handled it eloquently and with aplomb.
  12. The 'old guard'. You can't change a 1,000 plus years of belief systems without ruffling (dare I say incendiary) feathers. I suspect that's been behind a few of the arrests in family circles.
  13. There was a plan, but not by the club, to rotate through 90degrees which would allow expansion to 70,000. Not sure how viable that would be. Also the area where the arena is will soon be vacated but not sure if there are any existing plans for that and to throw a rabbit in there......Im told but guess what, not sure, that the Rueben bros own Gosforth Park. There's always castle leazes to try for again. There's an Athletic article that's very interesting on the subject. https://theathletic.co.uk/1680760/2020/03/26/unwritten-newcastle-planned-own-san-siro/ And the pitch rotation plan, apparently was already shared with Amanda Stavely. https://www.thestadiumbusiness.com/2019/04/17/radical-plan-uncovered-expansion-st-james-park/
  14. Doubt it, but with no football on TV I think we can be excused watching some old classics for entertainment.
  15. I believe this was the original design to rotate the pitch 90deg.
  16. Doubt it is the right place but, -https:-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gq_t9GOdzdw Full 90m in good quality, posted March 21 2020 - The 4-4 with Arsenal
  17. Which company is it that lets you make your own bets. I fancy a double on options 1 & 4 above.
