  1. Mmm... The same s*** team who got a great 1-0 win at Everton and have since been took over by a new owner and have signed Barton SWP and Ferdinand... Not saying they are worldbeaters but let's not get carried away... Classic NUFC banana skin awaiting us in front of the watching millions... I think we need to remember that despite the results we have been over run for large periods in all 4 games this season... Those two are f***ing rank I presume you are predicting a comfortable away win then?... No I'm just saying that those two are s***.. It'll probably be a difficult game, as with any game in this league, especially away from home. Think you are being a little dismissive of SWP... and we hardly tore Ferdinand a new one at the SOL... Like I said whilst not being worldbeaters I think some folk on here are getting carried away if they think we just need to turn up to take all 3 points... We should be aiming too but whether we get anything is a completely different story due to our lack of creativity... I'm not being dismissive of him, I just don't think he's a good player, same with Ferdinand. Taarabt, Barton and Campbell (who always does well against us) are the players to worry about IMO.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Cabaye looks like he'll be a great player for us, but I'm still more excited about Ben Arfa. Both of them paying together is the most exciting thing of all though
  6. Where are those stats from? It'd be interesting to see what they consider a chance considering Henderson isn't even in the top 40 for assists for the same season (he's joint 47th-59th.

    Alan Pardew

I certainly hope he's not like that because a board that looks to the continent for almost all of their signings and a manager who doesn't like foreigners is a pretty terrible combination.

    Alan Pardew

I don't think so really. The signings these days are mostly from the continent so I would imagine the next manager would also be foreign. I said so a long way back in this thread even before the season started. Pardew's preference of Shola over Ba and inclusion of Barton while he was here also suggests he is more comfortable with British players he knows. It's too early to say though, but our early games have been a bit long ball based so far. Pardew has to be more like Keegan in getting his message across about passing football. Or it could just be because Ba/Marveaux weren't fit while Shola and Barton were. I certainly hope so anyway.

    Alan Pardew

If a disappointing transfer window and failure to sign another striker was something a manager would resign over then about 3/4 of Premiership managers and most in the Football League will be handing in their notice. .com and especially True Faith are becoming boringly repetitive with articles that sound like they've been written by moody or hysterical schoolgirls. The club has not crossed the line as far as a striker is concerned, but AP has definetely crossed The Line - he has lied 3 times in a row re. major themes [AC, reinvestment, striker] - he has to take responsibility. If he is dignified enough, he has to resign. No matter if JFK is waiting on the wings [defo hope not], but AP exposed himself - we can't trust him anymore. And this is an essential part of the manager's job - to have a certain rapport with the club's fans. You know what's the most essential part of the managers job?, picking up points. You're advocating Pardew going even if it means relegation because you think his rapport with the fans isn't good, fucking amazing!
  10. That is something we got ourselves into though, by firing Hughton, selling carroll and being absolute cunts, but thats another discussion entirely. A proper replacement for Enrique would be Cissokho, Santon at RB would give him way more goodwill from the getgo.. We'll see in time if he's a proper replacement I suppose. The fact is here we have gobshite who's twisting the truth and outright lying about a lad who's now one of our own. Yet people here are defending and even applauding that because he's using it to attack Ashley, seems some on here have totally lost sight of what's important in their Ashley rage.
  11. Barton's a tool, thick as mince but likes to pretend he's intelligent. He's consistently wrong in most of the facts he puts out on twitter, which goes back to him being thick as mince. Any idiot can use Wiki and see that Santon has played 51 Serie A games since 2008 (where does he even get 16 games from? ).. That's for Inter and at only 20 years old as well, something that clown doesn't mention. He also doesn't mention that we had no choice but to sell Enrique, since he had no intention of signing a new contract. Santon is clearly a gamble in comparison to Enrique, he might end up worse, but with the quality he's got at such a young age he could also end up better.
  12. He's still better than Routledge though

    Sunderland...

They also needed a left back and a winger and didn't get those. That was more down to Sunderland's cock eyed spending policy. They threw enough money at it, just signed the wrong players. We on the other hand bought quite well, just failed to make the all important signing that would have transformed our window. For the person who asked what's wrong with Best and Ba, nothing other than Best is a fairly agricultural footballer. It's the alternative to Ben Arfa we needed. I've seen little evidence that Best and Ba will work together so far. Yep, either way Sunderland aren't the club to look to when it comes to delivering the needed transfers. I would have taken Bendter of course, though I wouldn't have been happy with him, just a bit happier than nobody.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Why would that happen then? He's been put out by two terrible tackles, not by a Kieron Dyer like hamstring explosion. while i wouldnt go as far as adam, a muscle strain or two is par for the course after being out of competitive football for so long If he's brought back too early or played too much too early that could cause another injury yeah. Just thought he was talking about the "Ben Arfa is injury prone" myth.
  15. No, I'm pretty sure Chris Mort said as much once they bought the club and saw the books - Club sponsorship money had been used in one hit for Owen, hence no future sponsorship money in the pot. Cheers mate, thought it was right. When does Northern Rock expire? He'll walk into another 20m+ when the next shirt sponsor comes along, wonder how much of that will be reinvested. pretty sure the Northern Rock deal was just recently renewed, not sure how long the deal is for though. We went from £5m/year for 5 years unconditional to £2.5m/year for 4 years conditional on staying in the Prem. It's called turning round the finances. You mean the £5m a year we weren't receiving because Shepherd blew 4 years of it on Owen all in one go? That's called selling your future mate and not doing it now is what will turn the finances around.
  16. That line is such a load of toss like, and gives an idea of the perspective the article was written with. £134m of that is the money Ashley paid for the club £45m of it is the remainder of the debt for the stadium extension £83m is additional debt from when Ashley bought the club to 2009 None of that is to do with the so called "club’s previous excesses" which account for around £22m of that figure. Far too high a price to pay for 15 years of semi-regular European football obviously. You've also failed to mention that club debt isn't £282m, its £148m, the other £134 is held by the company that he used to buy the club and is not owed by NUFC.
  17. But the clubs debts are larger than they were because of this. The company he owns that he used to buy the club and the club are not the same company. SJHoldings owns the club and owes Ashley £138m (something he'll get back if SJHoldings managed to sell the club for at least £138m). The Newcastle United is also owned by Ashley through SJHoldings and owes Ashley £150 or there abouts, which is the money he had to put in to pay off debts. They are seperate debts, Newcastle United Football Club doesn't owe Ashley £288M. Obviously like with any business he can decide to sell it for whatever he wants. So IF ha managed to pay back the £150m he leant to the club and then sells it for £200m he'll be in profit. Or he could start giving himself a salary, or he could make interest payable on the debt. But so far he's done none of this.

The looney negativity continues Why would that happen then? He's been put out by two terrible tackles, not by a Kieron Dyer like hamstring explosion.

    Bryan Ruiz

I would be very surprised if that's the case. More likely they just spotted him first, convinced him to join them and he liked the idea of being massively paid to live in luxury somewhere in West London. Really don't think players have as depressing an outlook on Newcastle Utd as the fans do. Except the ones we've forced out of course. In which case why did we even bother making a last day bid for him? Because we're not psychic and his agent said he'd be willing to speak to us if we had a bid accepted?

  21. See my sig for his career record. If we signed him for £15m 3 hours ago from a top club in Germany there would be so much mututal masturbation going on the forum server would get pregnant. i was going to post similar earlier but held off. But the fact is he was a free transfer. That's the fact. He wasn't worth £15m, never was and never will be (that last bit is speculation). A lot of players bought for £15m arent worth £15m.. Ba went for £7m last season despite a problem with his medical and had West Ham not given him a relegation release clause he would never have gone for free.
  22. To be fair they've openly admitted to lying to us before, haven't they? Besides...plenty of their actions speak far louder than their words. They don't give a f*** about us. Right so they're a bunch of c***s. How does that mean that every f***er that has a bad word to say about them must be right/justified? What am I missing here? Everyone knows that Ashley and co are tossers. But some of the stuff Barton and Nolan ect have come out with is cringeworthy bullshit and it gets eaten up because they're against the evil empire.. No, it's just I have no reason not to believe Nolan and Barton. They might be money-grabbing bastards too but regardless they have done nowt for me to think they're lying in the past. In addition to this, despite they're wrong doings on and off the pitch they seem to have done all in their power to turn this club around this last year or two, hence promotion and the reformation of the squad mentality. The board however are the total opposite - lying, deceiving and then admitting to it in court. Forgive me if I'm naive but I'd place my bets on the players being the ones telling the truth here. Despite whether you think they're money grabbing arseholes - they're the credible ones. The board might be if we a) stay up and b) the books are looking a fucking fine lot better by the time they're released/the season ends. How about the novel idea that neither are telling the whole truth? Thats my point. Ashley and co being cunts ect (which we all already know), does not equal Barton/Nolan ect being angels. Both parties wanted the best for themselves. I just wish people could talk about what a bunch of pricks Ashley and co are without putting two money grabbing pricks on a pedastal in order to do it. It just really gets on my tits hearing what good hard done by lads Barton and Nolan are when in reality they've also been trying to use the fans to get what they want. Ashley does it, but at least everyone can see it!
  23. Completely and utterly wrong. But that doesnt suprise me considering Joey only pretends to be intelligent.
