  1. 2006–07 32 2007–08 32 2008–09 6 2009–10 38 2010–11 10 Its concerning yeah, though I'd be more worried if he consistently played only 20 or so games every year. Hopefully the two bad injuries he's had in 2008-09 and 2010-11 are behind him.
  2. Though its not mentioned in that article I posted Brukner apparently said we offered more money. Seems unlikely that he's getting much over £50k so who knows why they wouldn't. I can only guess really. Maybe they still had some worries about his past injury despite passing the medical which limited what they would pay (either the wage or a big signing on fee). Or maybe they had a certain lower wage/signing on fee agreed, we offered more and they thought they could play hard ball and got their bluffs called. We'll probably never know exactly.
  3. Hold on, there are no quotes saying he failed his medical to begin with are there? Surely you should take your own advice and not believe everything you read.. By the way that story about Peter Brukner was all over the place and nobody denied it. Nobody argued with Marveaux's comments either or Carvers when they said the failed medical rumour was nonesense.

you tend not to be allowed to follow through in such a manner though. Nothing wrong with the placement of his left leg in that challenge, if his foot went over the ball then the whole "studs up" argument would hold some water. Its dangerous play wether its above the ball or not. Foot off the ground, flat and facing directly towards the player, you can easily break someone's ankle. As it is he made sure his other leg did the damage.

Tiotes was arguably a red, De Jongs wasn't even arguable, well it shouldn't be anyway..

Certain tackles are fine with your studs. For instance a tackle from the side you might make contact with your studs and that's ok obviously. But if you lunge into a tackle directly towards a player with your studs out that's not fine.

His toes, the front of his boot OR his studs if he can stay on the ground or isn't going directly for the player with his foot out flat. De Jong lunged (both feet off the ground) with his studs facing the player and foot out flat.

There's no argument Madras, if this clown thinks that going into a tackle with your studs facing directly at the ball/players legs (he even makes contact with the ball directly with his studs)isn't studs up then he's either on a wind up or thick as mince.

Absolutely, just saying that going in studs up on its own can be a justification for a sending off. De Jong went in studs up, and brought his other leg accross to scissor Ben Arfa's legs which also makes it two footed.

http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2011/07/21/article-0-0B758605000005DC-196_634x424.jpg Do you see how his studs are facing outwards towards the player. That's called going into a tackle studs up. Watch the video and you'll actually see that the only part of him that touches the ball are his studs. Take your own advise because you're embarrasing yourself.

I forgot/misremembered one aspect of the challenge (the leg that did the damage was nowhere near the ball). I do however have some idea of the rules of the game which you can't seem to grasp. It was studds up, two footed AND he followed through with his second leg after making contact with the ball. Any one of those could have seen him sent off, all of them together makes for just about the least debateble read card you'll ever see.

Ok fair enough the studds of his left leg made contact with the ball as the knee of his right made contact and broke Ben Arfa's leg. It was an incredibly wild and dangerous tackle, if he did the same again someone else would likely be out for the season. Studds up red card, two footed red card, follow through with his second leg red card. Any of those by themselves were enough to get him sent off according to the rules of the game.

He was nowhere near and ball, two footed and scissored Ben Arfa's legs. Yellow card tackle?
  14. I believe the bloke who oversees Liverpools medicals.. http://www.tribalfootball.com/articles/liverpool-doc-admits-newcastle-signing-marveaux-passed-medical-1711021
  15. Not like you to be doom and gloom wullie! Not like we have a reputation for signing players that fail medicals elsewhere at all Except he didn't fail a medical elsewhere.
  16. I was at the game and didn't once feel that we got at them or looked like scoring. I realise it was Ba's first game but he did a great impression of Shola. We put no pressure on their back line. Obertan provided some much needed pace. I agree we didn't really get at them much or have a period were we pressured them and looked like scoring. Just thought you meant we had no chances, which we did even though they were few and far between.
  17. Thought Obertans little flick for Cabaye was a good move and certainly a half chance at least.
  18. We did have promising attacks and did threaten to score. They were rare but not non-existent despite MOTD making it look like that.

    Sunderland...

Most of the new players who will add pace werent fit to start. Obertan certainly added some when he came on, as will Marveaux and Ben Arfa. Cant wait to see the side when/if () everyones fit.
  20. Waddle "Ba's not a goal scorer". How many times does he need to prove he's a clueless twat before people stop employing him?

    Gervinho

He looked dangerous until he had to actually do something other then run forwards..

    Erik Pieters

Yeah could be, it would also fit with Pardew saying we have a few targets for the left back position.
  23. It's even more hilairous that we have opened a thread on this guy when it's clear we are already well down the road to signing Pieters. I dont know, normally I'd agree but RMC have a pretty high success rate when it comes to our transfers.

There's nothing to say Bendtner would cost £6m or that we wouldn't pay that.. Long fair enough, I'd have liked to see him here and think he went for a reasonable price. He'd certainly contribute far more then gay boy.
