More likely they are being paid based on the amount of work being done rather than at a fixed rate so the longer it lasts................. The more their reputation for selling clubs is ruined. Also I can't believe Ashley will be paying them a significant amount of money per hour/week. Surely a large portion of their payment would be based on he final sale price.

he shouldn't be insisting on the reserves . he should be doing his all to get a regular place or putting in a transfer request. if players want clubs to uphold their side of contracts then they have to do likewise. sooner or later players will be in for a shock when a club "does" a player over it. Look I'm not here to score points in a petty forum squabble, but you cannot assume that he wasn't doing just that. IF he wasn't then I'm sure he'd be sent packing by whoever was running the club/team at the time last January, let alone this transfer window. "I even stopped playing in the last few days to force my exit.” I suppose when he "stopped playing to force an exit" that was part of his plan to "do his all to get a first team place"?

Jesus they're all fucking insane!

I can afford to go to home games, no way could I manage away games though so I'm very glad so many of them are on Sky.
-
Effort is hardly the only thing that stops people from going to matches. Often some of my friends can't afford to go.

I know plenty of what you'd call armchair fans who'd be better supporters then some of the whining idiots I see/hear at St James Park.

I wonder how much money a club gets per live game? I know TV money is very small in the Championship in comparison to the Premier League (£270m vs £1.8b) but I just wonder how its distributed.
-
Nope

Watching on TV is a big deal in comparison to radio coverage or highlights. At the end of the day everyone wants whats best for themselves.
-
Is there some kind of limit to how many times a team can be on Sky?
-
You'd be fuming if a home game you were going to got moved such that you couldn't make it anymore. Still, so long as it doesn't affect you... Yeah and you'd be happy if these matches weren't on Sky Sports despite people who are unable to go no longer being able to see it, still as long as it doesn't affect you...

Love your Sig If anything , no players coming in can make the squad tighter . Or make the players decide they can do whatever they please because they can't be replaced.
-
I just replace them all with decent scouts

All these so called experts and pundits on SSN are going on about tapping up and how it happens all the time so Chelsea are being made an example of for doing something loads of clubs do. They're completely missing the point which is breach of contract, makes me want to throttle them
-
He broke a legally binding contract, if he didn't want to risk these kind of punishments he shouldn't have done that.
-
Its not the same situation. Past complaints such as N'Zogbia, Fabregas ect have been about clubs signing young players at the end of their youth contracts and the club wanting more compensation then those clubs were offering. What's happened here is an actual breach of contract.
-
So they can't even bring in free players or loans.. ouchey
-
This could damage them quite a lot actually. If they can't bring players in then they also can't sell any (as they'd need replacing obviously). By the time they can do business again nearly half their squad is going to be between 31 and 36 years old (most of them nearer the later) and have very little value left. I'm sure they'd have wanted to sell most of those players off and replace them over the next few windows while they were still valuable. There's also the possibility of the squad stagnating, what if quite a few players hit bad form, they can't be replaced so the manager really has his hands tied to a degree.

No problem, just go and buy another bottle of hope, or as I call it Jack Daniels.

I'd be more confident in Harewood then Xisco in this league and and Harewood will cost us far less in wages so its a pretty good swap IMO.
-
We are currently wanting rid of one... Way more money than sense, we need a wealthy man/group with a level head and an fantastic brain for business. No one with a fantastic brain for business would pay £100m for NUFC, therein lies the problem. Don't agree, as long as its £100m all in its a good deal for anyone with a decent head for business and an idea about Football.

I know what you mean, though there are more indirect ways of helping the team, such as pushing the opposition back and creating space for your team mates which he does far better then any player we currently have. Obviously he's not a hold up player like Ranger so he's never going to help the team in that way.

Think this is a bit harsh. He was out of the game a bit before coming to us, I think he did well in a very tough situation and out shone Owen for goals from January onwards. He 'shone' did he? Thought he was lacking in the tackling, tracking back, first touch and timing of runs department. The first two will come if the squad is as tight as Hughton reckons, the other two matter less now. Having seen him, i wouldnt have wanted to keep him if we had stayed up. Would you? In comparison to the rest yes he did. If we'd stayed up I'd be keeping him as backup, well before I tried to keep Owen, Viduka or Ameobi. He was fucking shit in midfield for us. When he played up front, he took his chances well but did very little else. Nile Ranger did more for the team last night up top than Lovenkrands ever managed. Dont get me wrong, think its a good signing for this league but he made fuck all impact on our league position last season. You shouldn't compare what one player did in a Championship game to another in the Premiership though. He should never play in midfield (unless the other option is Geremi), up front he not only scored a few goals but created space for other players with his movement and pace. Like I said, at best a competent Premiership player with pretty much one really good talent (pace), certainly nothing to shout about in that league. But in a league were Ameobi is god he's got the potential to be top class.

Are we really now supposed to believe Ashley is a generous guy who will ignore a real offer from someone else to allow his mate to come up with the money? He'd hit Moat with a shovel and bury him in the center circle if it meant getting £100m for the club.
