    Administration?

Quite possible one of the greatest source-quotes in the history of journalism The Times and Shields Gazette are just taking a wild stab in the dark. They know as f*** all much as we do. Caulkin is the only journalist I have any respect for, I have much more faith in his articles then the usual tabloid drivel. The first thing I was taught at Uni las year was that 99% of the time when a print journalist has a story that they want to run, but no quotes, they make up a 'source'. Caulkin's article stinks of it. Absolutely its a staple of the tabloid journalist, its probably only one rare occasions when these "sources" are actually real. Just saying I usually give him the benefit of the doubt because he's the only 'journalist' I trust in the slightest.

1 million a year, which fits in with 20k a week. Another Ashley fuck up. So we must be paying him one full years wage to forgo the remainder of his contract (2 to 3 years)?

The wage bill they mention is a bit off IMO, should be much lower with the likes of Owen and Viduka gone. I'd also like the know where they've gotten this whole Dennis Wise severance pay thing from, I mean if we're paying him 20 grand a week now what the fuck do they claim we were paying him before that?

Oh fucking hell common, did it cost him hundreds of millions of pounds to belittle Dave Whelan? I'm sure if it cost him nowt he'd be happy to do his best to piss off the fans, in fact I expect to hear plenty of digs from him once he's gone. But the idea that the man is willing to lose hundreds of millions of pounds just to piss people off is ridiculous.

Fucking hell how completely absurd I think I'll sell my car, I'll leave it out in a bad neighbourhood and refuse all offers until it gets pinched, I'm sure that won't put any prospective buyers off

    Administration?

Right yeah 42m is most of the 70m he initially paid off. The other 30m was paid to balance the deficit in the 2008 accounts in order for the auditors to sign off on those accounts.

    Administration?

He didn't have an option with most of it, the clause in the loan deal meant it had to be paid then and there. The only advantage being it saves us about 8m pounds a year in interest which could have been a big plus had he not massively mismanaged the club into relegation. Stockholm syndrome. Thinking he massively mismanaged the club is a real sign of loyalty towards Ashley like isn't it? Or didn't you read that far before responding? The rest are facts, no matter how much I hate him I'm not going to ignore them, you be delusional if you want, I'm not joining you no matter how bad it gets.

Its all already been answered, just read back through. He didn't have an option with most of it, the clause in the loan deal meant it had to be paid then and there. Man City

As much as I hate the scots twat and his club he's got absolutely no reason to be jealous of Man City. Players do it all the time, Adebayors confidentiality? , boo fucking hoo.

    Administration?

I don't think any of that is possible, not sure but I really don't think so. You've got the wrong idea of what administrators do by the way. They wouldn't be there to asset strip the club for Ashley's benefit, they would be there to stabilise the club and help sort out its debts. Ashley would have no say in how they do that and he would not be a proirity for them when it comes to paying debts. So who knows how much, if anything, he might get from them. Put it this way, I'm sure he'd rather sell the club for nothing and leave the 100m loan in place for any new owner to pay back then have the club go into administration, because he couldn't possibly hope to get 100m pounds from administrators if they were called in.

    Administration?

My mind hasn't changed no, it makes no sense to either put or allow the club to be put into administration. If that happened administrators would sell the club for the highest offer available and use that money to pay off as much external debt as possible (Barclays, people we owe transfer money too) and the administrators fee. Ashley would see very little to nothing from the sale of the club and I'm pretty sure any loan the club owes him would go up in smoke. Also what nobody seems to have mentioned yet is that on the 30th of June 2009 the clubs financial year will have ended and its accounts will have been scrutinized by auditors. Those auditors will only sign off on those accounts if the club, or Ashley, can prove that the clubs debts can be paid over the next 12 months.

Yet more rumour and bollocks, I don't believe a word that comes from the Sunday Sun.

We all have our own fairly specific interpretation and assessment of him (Shepherd) and we rarely (if ever) let other peoples opinions on him, influence our own hard-set views! We have these certainties, even though most of us have not met him and do not know him well enough to be able to make any judgements at all. That will not stop us though . . . and I think I include me in that! I'm not trying to judge him as a person. At least not in this thread To me the amount of money he took from the club (especially bonuses and dividends which he helped sanction when the club was making big losses already) show that greed was far more important to him then Newcastle United.

    RIP sale thread.

Shepherd doesn't love Newcastle United. He robbed the club of millions over the years as it got further and further into debt, would any of you do that?, because I fucking wouldn't! Shepherd loves being in charge of the club, which isn't really the same thing. Having said that I'd definitely prefer him here then Ashley, since at least loving being in charge means he's motivated to make the club successful.

This doesn't square with the other story. Which other story?
  20. Is it bollocks. The Championship is the worst league in the country. He didn't say its a softer league did he, he said easier, by which he obviously means lower quality.
  21. They're talking as if the club have no say in things, dickheads.

A tad pessimistic there,Ashley knows he has no future at the club...he'll sell to the highest bidder, sooner or later.Sooner,i'd say. He seems to be suggesting that our current squad would get relegated from the Championship as well
