  1. I assume they're taking a guess at a 5 year £40,000+ per week contract and adding the £4 million fee to make a rather sensationalist figure.
  2. I genuinely dont think footballers think like that. They are obviously driven by money of course but I think when it comes to doing stuff on the pitch, what gets them going is massaging their ego's to make them feel "special" thats not it. these guys have been playing football everyday since they were 5-6 years old. they have done literally nothing else in their life and by the time you get to the end of your career your motivation really dries up. Someone like viduka doesn't even need the money anymore so there is another motivating factor gone. sports are no longer fun when u play them that much. it becomes like a job. and I am sure everyone has not wanted to go to work at some point. For some yes, certainly not for all.
  3. As I've always said the News of the World is a comic not a news paper, pure fantasy. I'm sure FIFA/Uefa/Sarsfield/Mallorca/somebody would mention it if we'd ended up paying a fee for Gutierrez. Though if we did end up paying £5 million, it would be a bargain in todays market! Flop.. yeah ok As for the Daily Mail, well they're just fucking illiterate
  4. Another "uncharacteristic" error from Cech
  5. We remain the only team in the Premiership to come back against them.
  6. Under Hughton we had no chance of beating anybody.

    Financial meltdown?

Nah sorry but I can't agree with that at all. Ashley is only one of the people responsible for our problems, and Shepherd is very much one of the people responsible!
  8. You don't think saying that was just a little bit stupid? Was what I was trying to say. Foot in mouth, I suppose. Still a load of bollocks, we've been underdogs for some of them but not all of them. We've definitely been underdogs in the last two games we've won at White Hart Lane. I'm not disputing that but we have not been underdogs the last 4 times we've played them at home in the Premier League. Oh yeah I agree. Just trying to get back to the original point and a bit more on topic. We're underdogs next week, but we've been underdogs for this same fixture for the last two years and won both, so lets be positive.
  9. I'd imagine he decided to support them because they have the most idiotic name in the league, American's like silly names for their sports teams.

  11. Lets have 10 minutes injury time!
  12. Fucking plastic bastards! Ah well at least Barca will mutilate them, they fucking better do anyway!
  13. Riena own goal IMO. I think Drogba's touch may have been drifting wide.
  14. Didn't realise it was on ITVHD. Just added it to my SkyHD box and it does look brilliant like!
  15. Drogba just went down "injured" just off the side of the pitch and then rolled onto the pitch so the ref would stop the game, that really is taking time wasting to a whole knew level.
  16. Erm, not saying we're not shit at the moment, but Everton vs Villa is Everton vs Villa, Stoke weren't involved which is always going to mean better Football on display.
  17. Liam Lawrence also seemed to take a number of corners from outside the corner area. Cheating bastards basically.
  18. Past meetings don't mean nothing, but they certainly aren't everything. I'm unsure about this game, we've definitely got a chance despite their good form. But while they usually don't play well against us/we play well against them every run has to end eventually and 6 wins in a row against any team is already pretty extraordinary. Incidentally I wonder what the record is in the Premiership for teams dominating other teams?
  19. Loudest set of fans I've seen this season. Yeah they were loud like, when it came to being nasty abusive pricks anyway. I heard very little support of their own team though.

    Some positives

Expecting to beat Stoke at the Brittania stadium has turned out to be unrealistic for 13 teams out of 16 so far this season! Why on earth should we expect to do it? Obviously we should go there and try and believe we have a chance, but that's a far cry from expecting to win and calling a draw there a poor result. I've heard not one person saying they expect us to beat Villa on the last day of the season, yet there home record is nowhere near as good as Stoke's! On another note, looking at Villa's home record that's a game we should really look at get something out of. There home record isn't good at all (only 4 points better off then ours).

    Some positives

Its not just expecting a win against a team in 13th though, its expecting an away win against a team with the 7th best home record in the league. If we were playing them at home I'd agree with it being a poor result, in fact I did earlier in the season I'm not expecting us to win 3 more games by the way, I'm hoping we can. I expect us to beat all those teams we have left at home as individual results, but winning all three is going to be more hope then expectation to me. I'm not sure what I expect realistically from the rest of the season. But I think we need at least 8 more points.

    Some positives

How can you look at a game against a team who have only lost 3 times all season as a must win? Like I said if you keep being this unrealistic you're going to keep being disappointed. Did I say don't whinge about being 19th?, no so don't be silly ok? I said don't whinge when we get a good result, and no amount of unrealistic expectations will change a good result into a bad one.
