Who Modric? I don't think we can draw that conclusion. When i read it i thought it was more like we have an interest but thats as far as it as gone hope im wrong like I wouldn't expect Keegan to go any further then positive words/admitting an interest in signing a player, not until the deal was done. The fact that he hasn't denied the rumours or ridiculed them as he did with the Henry rumour makes it pretty clear that we are after Modric. But it doesn't tell us anything about how close we might be to signing him IMO.

No need to be like that Dave.. Everyone deserves a chance, or has IcemanBlue made claims like this before?
-
Seriously excited. Sorry, I couldn't resist..

Just been reading the Modric thread on the RAWK forum. According to one of the thieving inebriates on there Bilic might only be saying good things about us and advising Modric to come here because he could secretly have a deal setup to replace Keegan after Euro 2008. Because apparently Keegan is "on thing ice at the moment" mackems.gif

Dear me... where's our Croatian friend?
-
Just put this on your profile picture and you're in http://sport.hrt.hr/htvsport/slike/nogomet/igrac/maric.jpg Would Barcelona, Chelsea, Arsenal and Juventus be after a player who could be as much as a flop as Maric was? ?? He didn't compare him to Maric, or say he would be a flop..
-
Well if we've offered 20 million Euro's (£16 million) and they want 25 million Euro's (£20 million) then hopefully they'll meet us half way at £18 million.. Its a lot of money, but if he's Keegans first choice then lets get him!
-
Well, that was well overdue.
-
What? Is he just talking about tradition here? Probably, until Chelsea were taken over they'd won less then all the teams mentioned there, less then us as well.
-
Where??. EDIT: never mind, my browser wasn't refreshing properly.
-
f*** yeah, something a little more solid it seems.......and in english You realise that those articles say exactly what the Croatian ones do? Just because it's now in English, doesn't give it greater credibility, they've just done what we've done and got someone who speaks Croat to tell us what they say the only difference is that more people read their posts than whoever it was who wrote it on here and they're too up their own arse to acknowledge their sources. Actually they aren't exactly the same as the Croatian sources from what I can see. None of the Croatian sources I read had the quotes the Sun has in.

I never had any doubts, it was obvious to me that the run of games Keegan had when he took over made his job (which initially was to bring confidence back) impossible. I was sure once we got a run of winnable games he'd bring back the confidence in the players and have the team playing better Football and winning.

Titus Bramble had a 5 year personal dislike of Alan Oliver yet he still can't even get the man's name.. he really is a scatter brained idiot! mackems.gif Previously I just thought of the guy as someone who did his best but just couldn't deal with the pressure of playing for a big club, I had no dislike for Titus personally what so ever and I'm sure most Newcastle fans would be the same. Well not after this little comment:

From The Voice newspaper, Tuesday:

What a bizarre thing to say.. The staff you mention are here to build for the future, but we also need to spend big in the summer to build a team now. You're talking as if you can only do one or the other... As if buying now makes building a structure for the future pointless, when in fact you have to do both to be successful.
-
How much we spend will all depend on wether we can get all the players we want. If we can I think we'll spend between £50 and £80 million.
-
Honestly Which were his car crash performances? Liverpool at a push.... I can't remember any winger giving him a really tough time. What's his name again? You know, that Man Utd player ... OH, you mean the one that got a tough time off Enrique so switched flanks and pissed on Carr instead? Exactly, Enrique had Ronaldo in his pocket for most of the game, if only Beye had been playing right back the same probably would have happened on the other side when Ronaldo switched..
-
Did Sky do the fanzone commentary for the Sunderland game? I'd love to see that.. I'd also love to see the same for the Spurs game come to think of it..
-
Villa didn't spend £50 million on players, then again they also weren't close to relegation last season like Man City were I suppose. I certainly wouldn't say Sven's been a failure at this point but he has made some pretty big mistakes. Have not followed that closely, what were his big mistakes? He bought Rolando Bianchi for about £9 million (?) and then ended up loaning him out to Lazio only 6 months later. Also he bought Felipe Caicedo for £5 million and the lad hasn't been considered good enough to start a game yet.. Like I said it would be harsh to consider him a failure just because of a poor second half to the season, but he has made a couple of mistakes that might have pissed Shiniwatra off a bit.
-
Who? Never heard of him Bit unecessarily harsh if those quotes are true. The only quotes there are "win trophies" and "play for a club at the bottom".. misguided comments IMO considering he's talking about mickey mouse trophies but not exactly harsh. Everything else there is the work of which ever cunt wrote the article.

but Souness bought Boumsong, Luque and Babayaro! Souness bought also Owen, Solano and Parker (who was superb in his first season)! Allardyce also bought Beye, Enrique, Faye and the ever improving Viduka and Barton, overall much better group of signings then the three you mentioned. I agree he's still a s*** manager of course.
-
Allardyce was terrible, but at least he brought in the likes of Beye, Enrique and Faye (and to a lesser extend Barton and Viduka). Souness got rid of our best players and the only player he brought in who's ended up being worth anything to us was Owen (who was injured the whole time he was manager anyway). I think we were generally more clueless as a team with Allardyce here, but we were pretty hopeless with Souness as well.. so just because of the few good players Allardyce signed I'm going to have to vote for Souness as the worst manager of the last 15 years.
