QPR? QPR aren't a rich club, they just have rich owners
-
Why do you think that? Because financially we're extremely strong. We sit at 13th in the worlds highest earning clubs despite finishing 13th in the league last season and not playing in Europe. Remove Premiership TV money and prize money and we would still be bring in higher revenues then a lot of Premiership clubs. Of course we have a large wage bill, but that would fall to a small fraction of its current level if we were relegated (you can bet quite a few will jump ship, some sold, some with release clauses). Also it doesn't hurt that we're also now debt free. I agree with Wullie, financially we're in the best position of any club when it comes to being able to withstand relegation. Now let me ask you, why on earth would we be likely not to come back up for a very long time?

Finally, someone without their head up Keegans arse! Form the outside its different, my housemates all feel similar to the above (arsenal, Blackbuurn and Tramemre fans). Of course its different from the outside, the difference is lack of knowledge and understanding of the situation from people who don't know much of anything about Newcastle United.

The problem here was the timing of SA sacking, which wasn't really needed until the summer, but lets forget all that.. Oh of course it wasn't, because when Allardyce was manager it was all rosy and we were at no risk of relegation Anyone with more then 5 brain cells knew we were in trouble back then, they could see that we'd played our easy games already and had 8 games ahead of us that we'd be lucky to get 3 points from. The more I think about it the more I think Allardyce forced Mort/Ashley's hands when he was fired. He got out just before this run of games.
-
End?, its 7 games in you idiot! Seriously, some of you are mentally retarded (geordiedean I'm looking in your direction).
-
I don't remember too many thinking we'd get anything at all from 6 of the eight games we've played under him, so he's being judged on two games then correct? One of those games only 24 hours after he came in..
-
Anyone who seriously believes he'd sell up must have left there brains at home.. Think about it, if that's possible. He's spent £250 million on a club that was worth £200 at the very most (due in no small part to the debt he paid off). Relegation would drop the worth of the club through the floor, he'd have to right off at least £150 million if he sold at that time. Surely better to spend £50 million to get us back up rather then throw £150 million away for nothing.

Exactly. And this is what we called for throughout the years of Souness and Rouder, but quickly forgotten on this forum when Keegan came into the picture. But it's not just Keegan's ineptitude that got us in trouble, it's also a bunch of players who don't give a damn. Though I very much doubt Keegan's got the balls to turn that around. Got us in trouble? You fucking idiot, we were in trouble before he got here! We were 9 points off relegation thrashed 6:0 and staring down the barrel of five games against the top five teams in the league in the following eight matches! With the other three games being a local derby against the smogs, blackburn and Bolton a team who were always going to stick 11 players behind the balls and defend for there lives. How on gods fucked up earth did you not see this coming?

Is this friend an expert on the Senegal national squad, or just a cock? I think your question was answered already

He who laughs last... He hasn't had the last laugh yet.. there's still plenty of time for the hyper dwarf to f*** it up
-
Which people where those? One or maybe two nutters at most? What on earth does that have to do with Keegan and what he should be expected to achieve anyway?
-
The NOTW isn't a new paper, just don't even bother reading the thing, it doesn't deserve readers.
-
We played poorly against Blackburn did we? Those teams are scrapping for their lives and picking up points. I don't know who they're playing but teams like Tottenham who have nowt to play for might just hand them the points. We're also playing Spurs though...
-
I told you we shouldn't have sacked Sam and change was the last thing we needed. Gay. How f****** deluded are you?
-
No it wasn't. Yes it was, he came in at pace. I'm sorry but I'm under the impression Eduardo won't be playing for 9 month at the least and that his bone was sticking out of his leg? You're one of the clueless people in the world then, looking at consequences rather than the actual tackle If you read my post you'd realise that I actually referred to the tackle by saying his bone was sticking out of his leg. You still don't get what Mozy's telling you do you? You can't judge how bad a tackle was based on the carnage that follows it.. Look at Dave Busst's horrific injury against Manure.

Keegan shouted for everyone bar one person to go forward? Serious question, do you know that or are you assuming it?
-
True. I've no idea how Keegan will lift them now. We've done everything but win today. Very easily, he's say "you played very well today and were incredbly unlucky, keep playing like that and you have to start winning". The majority of the posts here make me absolutely sick, its just a testement to the reactionary nature of so many Newcastle fans. One minute they say we're playing really well, the next we concede a sucker punch goal and all of a sudden we're hopeless, s*** and have no desire to win. How did we create so many chances with no f****** desire to win? There are actually some people here asking for Keegan to be sacked because Owen and co missed numerous good chances and a slip up late on caused us to concede a goal.. bizarre. Had we converted one of the plethora of chances we had in the game the same people would be happy with Keegan... its as if some people think Keegan personally controls everything every one of our players does on the field..
-
Keegan is definitely in charge of first team signings, anyone who knows Keegan would know that if that wasn't under his control he wouldn't be here. Wise is primarily on the youth side of scouting and development.
-
Dennis Wise doesn't look for first team players full stop..
-
That entire thing is several months old, not even accurare either... The Sun must be running out of idea's. Hold on, no that is the several month old article.. Jol, why have you posted an article from October you

No way should we play the typical relegation scrap way, that's the reason we're in a relegation scrap in the first place! Because Allardyce has been playing as if we're already in one from the start of the season. Had we gone out and just played Football against the likes of Derby we wouldn't be in this position. Having said that we also shouldn't go into every game playing attacking Football.. Really what we should be doing is playing like we're in a relegation scrap against the better sides and trying to play Football against the s*** of the league.
-
Tbh, i have been asking myself if we'd have spanked quite as badly under Sam as we have been under KK these past few games. Would have been worse according to some on here as apparently we've been 'making progress' since he left. Progress in playing Football, not progress in limited every defeat to as few goals as possible, which was all Allardyce seemed to really care about.. That's alright then. At least we're 'trying' to play nice football while getting bettered every week. mackems.gif Results please. Are you interested in actually reading the discussion and taking part in it, or posting diatribe with a few silly smillies? Nobody has ever claimed that results have improved yet, that's the point that seems to have wooshed a mile over you're head..
-
As I said, the results haven't improved yet, but its got to have been extremely difficult to improve those results with the run of fixtures Keegan's started with. Confidence is important, and when you have four almost unwinnable games in the space of a month, it must be just about impossible to raise confidence for the winnable games. Which so far there's only been two of against Bolton and Boro (even then he'd only been in charge for days before the Bolton game.. and against Boro we should technically have won). Basically I believe that the way we're now trying to play will stand us in much better stead against teams like Reading and Fulham, confidence is all we need now, and I'm hoping that can come once we aren't being being forced to play the top four every week.
-
Of course its just my opinion, just like its your opinion, and not fact, that we'd have conceded less under Allardyce. BTW, I don't think there's any merit at all in comparing various fixtures several months appart. Especially with the way the players confidence had gradually deteriorated under Allardyce. Even worse if you're going to compare two different sides (Manure and Arsenal). After the second game against Derby, when we once again went out to try to "stop them playing" and were desperately lucky to scrape a draw, did you have any confidence left in you that we could beat anyone under Allardyce? Because I didn't. At least against Boro we had some kind of excuse (disallowed goal), and Bolton just came for the point (11 men behind the ball). Lets put it this way. Since Allardyce left we've made progress in trying to actually play Football, the way the players pass the ball is obviously better. What hasn't improved at this time are the results.
