Ferguson is a brilliant manager, but like everyone else looking at this from outside he hasn't got a f****** clue what he's talking about here and should shut his mouth. You know, I almost hope Allardyce doesn't get sacked just so all these ignorant fuckwits can be proven wrong, almost....
-
Was the same for Tottenham tbf. Exactly, and they still kept losing players to us.. Some of the negativity on here makes me sick.
-
Reason Modric could come here is not because we've done well for half a season. Its because on of his best mates already plays for us. Not that I'd advocate spending £20m on him. To be clear I wasn't saying he wouldn't go to Man City. I was just commenting on what a couple of people have said in this thread about Newcastle having no chance to sign a player if Man City are after him, which is ludicrous really.
-
Love the sudden opinion that Man City are some untouchable monster club... they've done well for half a fucking season, most people outside of England probably don't even know they exist.
-
You can't really compare them. Roeder's Newcastle played Liverpool away, Manure away, Arsenal away and Chelsea away all in the first 19 games. Allardyce has played Liverpool at home and Arsenal at home, that's it.. He's now got all four of those teams to play away in the next 19 games, plus Chelsea and Manure at St James as well. We've had the easiest start to a season I can remember.

As for the financial cost of sacking Allardyce. It will cost us only as much as we pay the next manager. Wether we pay the useless twat his money over his contract or up front he still gets the same amount. The only real difference between paying him the money outright or paying it over his contract is that if we pay it over the full length of his contract we'll be shit for much longer..
-
They we're probably marginally better under Roeder, which in of itself is a sad indicement of Allardyce. Being no better should be humiliating to most managers, but worse... Both Roeder and Souness deserved to be sacked and in fact should have gone sooner, or even better should never have been hired in the first place, so I'm not sure why you've brought them up. Bobby Robson had done well and was still doing ok results wise. It was a combination of silly team selections which seemed to be holding the team back and Fat Fred being a nob head that got him the sack. Speaking of Robson, why do you think people weren't asking for him to be sacked after he only finished 11th in his first two seasons? I'll tell you why, because we could see he was actually improving things. Making progress is neccesary if a manager is to keep his job, has Allardyce made progress?, has he f***!, if anything he's taken us further backwards.

Get a brain for f*** sake. We're consistently outplayed by just about everyone in the league (we occasionally fluke a half decent performance once in a blue moon) and couldn't string two consecutive passes together against Wigan (90% of the time we couldn't manage one pass). Seven months in and the players don't even know what the fat c*** wants them to do! Even if they did we'd still get beaten because his tactics and team selection are simply pathetic! Yeah how fickle eh? How dare we ask for a manager who can at least get the basics of Football right. How will any manager live up to those lofty expectations eh? "No way I'm not taking over there, they actually expect there team to be able to string two passes together and possibly not get humiliated by the whipping boys of the league... and they only pay you £50,000 a week...".

Pretty much summed up what I was just about to post. HTT was the fella who was telling us how brilliant Allardyce is and how great we are going to be when he was linked/took over in his numerous mega posts he likes to make. Wrong, I was obviously delighted with his appointment and it showed in my posts but guess where I had us down as finishing at the start of the season? Mid-table! While others had us anywhere from top 4 to mid-table. Hardly the reaction you're referring to, eh? I've said since day one it is going to be a long hard slog to turn this club around and that the manager needs time and money as well as good fortune and that goes for anyone whether it be Big Sam or another manager. You think we're going to finish as high as mid table? What a joker..
-
I think there's a chance we'll only just beat 40 points, enough to finish 4th or 5th bottom. For that reason I say sack the fatty as soon as possible (as soon as a replacement is found).
-
What was the game plan today? Make sure Wigan can't possibly score in the first half by booting anything we get 60-80 yards up field. Then come out second half and actually try to win the game?
-
Of course we can attract a good manager, the likes of Roeder and Souness were down to Shepherd. If you seriously think that the likes of O'Niel wouldn't have come to Newcastle because its too far from London your mad. Just as mad as to consider that Shepherd would even know who Ramos is never mind consider chasing him as our manager. I know how they play and the depressing thing is its an incredibly limited tactic. Its enough to get you just so far playing horrendous Football. But forget about Europe or competing any higher then 6th place playing Bolton style Football. Why don't you go ahead and tell me why I shouldn't be depressed at the idea of a manager who seems incapable of any other tactic, I look forward to this great insight.....

If I read the words "he needs time" once more I might go on a killing sprea. How much time does it take for someone to realise that N'Zogbia isn't a left back? Or that Milner is far better on the right, or that Geremi and Butt are useless together in midfield? How much time does it take for a manager to see that whenever he brings on Emre we play better? Is he fucking slow or what?
-
Who said anything about man mangement?, I said management full stop. Also comparing him to Roeder or Souness doesn't do him any favours. I'd call a manager twice as good as those two shocking.. Do I know what he's trying to do? Yes, but its idiotic to try it with completely incompatible players. Any decent manager would adapt and work with the players he has until they can get the key players in to make the way they want to play work. Do I like what I think he's trying to do?, no frankly I don't. The realisation that Allardyce is aiming to make us like Bolton is one of the most depressing things I've ever considered.

You definitely don't understand Brummie. Outside of the fact that different clubs have different expectations what you obviously don't realise is that we've had an incredibly easy first half of the season. For instance we've played Arsenal and Liverpool once, both at home. In the second half we'll be playing Chelsea away, Man UTD away, Arsenal away, Liverpool away, Man UTD at home and Chelsea at home... To put it all into perspective overall, the cumulative points total of every side we played in the first half of this season is 393 points. The total for the teams we'll play in the second half of the season is 537 points! Of course all of this is skirting around the real issue, which IMO isn't really league position or even results (though the Derby results are disgusting frankly). What people have a problem with is what they see as shocking mismanagement of the team. I'd have no problem righting this season off if I was given any reason to think it was necessary in order to 'get things right'. But like so many others I don't have any reason to believe that. All I see is a manager playing players out of position to the detriment of the team and the players themselves. As well as putting out extremely unbalanced teams with unfathomable tactics. He seems incapable of using the players he has properly. Perhaps given a few transfer windows he can buy Boltons team.. I think that's about as succesful as he could be here, which is depressing..
-
Fat sam has shown once again that he has no f****** idea.. I'm tired of pointing out his numerous faults to be honest, we really just need to get rid of him as soon as a good manager becomes available.
-
I don't think they're paying him £130,000 per week at all. Originally it was supposed to be £83,000 per week. This £130,000 figure only came out after we found out he'd persuaded the FA to take on four of his staff. So I'd say the £47,000 difference is probably what those four are being paid combined.

The part where it relates to finishing second in one of the best leagues in the world...
-
What was Lippi doing between 1998 and 2001 (appart from Coppa Italia runner up)? Exactly the same size gap in his C.V as the one you mention for Capello. Finishing second in Serie A twice in three seasons with Roma is what he was doing... Yeah what a flop eh?
-
So in other words CoachHTT everything good that happened against Arsenal came as a response to the critisism from the media, and more importantly the fans
-
Our trophy history is average at best yes and it could certainly be argued that our current team is average (below average at the moment with Sam in charge) but the club itself certainly isn't. Our fan base gives the club a big advantage (if its harnessed of course), something most teams in the Premiership could only dream of. Which teams did both play in there first 15 games? Because we've mostly played complete shit so far.

Alan Shearer should climb off sofa and show that he wants to manage
Teasy replied to EthiGeordie's topic in Football
We aren't though are we? My memory is s*** but bloody hell some people seem to have a game by game memory which wipes anything they have seen before Yes we are, ok not much much shitter, but we are shitter IMO If my memory was game by game I'd be a lot happier right now, since we weren't anywhere near as s*** as we have been again Blackburn (even though we still got beaten). I'm sure that's just a blip though.. -
I don't know what's more wildly optimistic, that we'll beat Arsenal, or that Allardyce would play that lineup. Its much more likley he'll play something like this: Given Beye - Taylor - Rozehnal - Enrique Geremi - Butt - Barton - Emre - Milner Martins Resulting in the inevitable large loss..
