They can have him on loan like, not interested in developing Chelsea's players for them.

No idea if he'll do well like. Did well to keep them up but so did Di Canio and Poyet.. Also where's Allardyce going to go now, Championship time for the big fat dinosaur
  3. People take press stories far too seriously when we aren't involved

Really? How could anything inspire you less than a man with no major trophy wins, hated by every set of supporters he's worked with and sacked by a League One club? Even being sacked by a Championship club puts McClaren ahead of Pardew when we brought him in
  5. Don't want Bamford on loan. Permanently yes, haven't seen much of him myself but he seems to be highly rated. But we shouldn't be borrowing players from other Premier League clubs.

Are people really changing their tone? There are people here who have argued from the start that he wouldn't be a terrible appointment. I think everyone agrees we should do better though, that hasn't changed either afaics.
  7. From what I remember the story that went around was that Marveaux failed his Liverpool medical. Which Marveaux denied, Liverpool's doctor also denied it. Can't remember any more specifics but if they wanted him initially and he passed his medical then why did they turn him down? Can't remember it ever being cleared up (?)

Aye but what if you end up being entertained by the Football? I know its now a completely alien concept to us, but I think that's supposed to be the source of enjoyment for Football fans

Carver guided us to safety apparently.. More like Hull guided us to safety you cunt.

What?, my point is he can't be that desperate for pay offs if he was prepared to resign which obviously meant no pay off..

Did Twente pay him off when he resigned?
  12. The whole Garde thing dragged on for a long time in the press. Rather then just reports of a meeting it was made to sound like his appointment was almost inevitable by quite a few outlets, in reality there wasn't really much in it.

Seems almost universal agreement on here that it should never have come to this. That doesn't mean we all have to agree that he has his sides play shit Football or that he's as bad as Pardew. If Derby fans say otherwise I'll assume they know better than me until I see for myself.
  14. Exactly, the press claimed we were in talks and very little happened both times, the press say a lot things, most of it bollocks.

Twente hadn't finished in the top 2 or 3 for years (if ever) until he arrived though.

If you subscribe to the idea that fans know their own club better than anyone else, then yes, he did. It depends who the fans are, we literally had half of our fan base beating the Alan Pardew drum up until last year. Plenty at the ground still supported him blindly, but close to 0 on any forum I read backed Pardew. Seems like most Derby fans on their various forums think he had them playing really well and doing well. Until his lack of denials towards our interest took his eye off the ball and they went to shit (again Derby fans opinions not mine). I'm not going to let that make me believe he's a good manager. But I think it supports the opinion that he's much better than Pardew.

Unhappiness is the unfortunate curse of geniuses such as yourself mate, its tragic really I don't think its acceptable. But I can understand people who are sick to death of hating their team and wanting them to lose all the time. Carver staying meant continuing that, or even walking away altogether. McClaren is "good enough" to at least be able to watch your side and hopefully not want to kill yourself every weekend.

He's a coach himself though, its not as if he's forced to let Carver and co do exactly as they please. Would be far better if they were gone of course.

Course he's staying, was never any doubt about that, he's on a contract and they would never pay to get rid of him.
  20. We were in talks with Garde and Vieira according to the press, means nowt at this stage.
  21. Aye but he's established as not very good while they were not yet proven to be crap so I think they'll have more options than him. Seems pretty certain now that he's coming in. Reputations can change within a season, just look at Pardew. The biggest fraud in the game and now he's being hailed as the English Mourinho. I'll wait and see what McClaren does with the football on the pitch, within a couple of months it should be clear whether he has any idea how to produce a functional team or not. Oh I'll give him a chance here, just saying his reputation means he'll probably have less options than the likes of Vieira.

Palace fans think that Pardew is God and that he plays vibrant attacking football! Hardly the same like, Pardew's been at Palace for 5 months. McClaren was at Derby for 2 years.
