  1. Were you perhaps the one who authored the "Boycoutt" banner?
  2. Sorry Dave, but how do you have any idea that this is actually true? Something's been going on behind the scenes, yes, but nobody really has a handle on what exactly went down. Imagine how foolish Ashley and co. would have looked if they'd issued this statement at lunchtime and he'd ultimately left, or if they'd announced they'd sacked him and then brought him back tomorrow.
  3. The wording of the whole statement seems strange, why wouldn't they just come out and deny it? Surely them saying that Keegan is still important to the future of the club means he's staying though?

    E-mail...

How about write to them about the fact that they've been shit stirring all day even though the club has now announced that Keegan's staying.
  5. At least we're moving forward though, I'm really more dissapointed in Ashley, we need to splash the cash on a signing that was at least £10-15m just to make a statement, but we havent done that. I still feel like we need a game changer in midfield and another body in defense. Remains to be seen whether or not Xisco will fill out at striker. Hopefully something else will be announced by tommorow...
  6. I'm a little wowed by that one, I've been impressed with him at times at Chelsea, but they just only play with one winger there. Hope this doesn't mean a permanent move for the Zog to LB though.
  7. Capello is getting very suspect now, but I've reserved judgement until Croatia, that game will be very telling.
  8. I know one of the owners, apparantly there's a big debate because they have no idea who the bidding club is or what his situation will be at the new club, and since there's a sell-on fee attached it makes it a difficult decision.
  9. Bring back Boumsong. Apparently once we came really close to playing him as an emergency striker.

    Thick as mince

To be fair, they have put a pretty decent looking squad together for the mackems(obviously still a ways from being better than ours), but where we're really streets ahead of them is at the manager level. Keegan kicks the shit out of Keane any day.
  11. Wow, so much wrong with that post, so little time. I'll keep it simple by telling you that you're wrong. It's extreme, but there are parts of it that I agree with. So far, Capello has still shown that he's willing to stick with the old guard, hasn't put together anything great performance-wise and hasn't really played attractive football, except perhaps T&T. The only decent team they've played, France (who actually may not even be as decent as we thought after Euro 2008), England looked really uninspired. As far as Capello and his honors and success go, he's clearly one of the best of his generation, but I think it's fair to hold off on him being a success with this team until England have comfortably qualified for the World Cup.
  12. I think I'd steer clear as well at this point. It's obvious he's after a. money b. fame c. playing for a giant of the game like Barca I'd rather have someone young and more motivated, although I'd still be excited if we did land him (won't ever happen).
  13. Thought so. I'm sure if we sign a creative midfielder it will be out of the blue, but almost certainly not Riquelme.
  14. Not trying to slag off anybody here that's talking about Riquelme, but has there been anything to indicate he's coming? A lot of people have been talking about him, are these local rumours going about Newcastle, or was there something in The Sun or some other paper that I've missed? Or is it just entirely fabricated speculation?

    The KK factor

Just watching him being interviewed makes me excited, you can tell he's fucking chuffed about the season and is also confident that Wise and Jimenez are gonna be bringing in more quality players. The more I think about today's game, all the circumstances around it, KK, the new management team, and the injuries we have right now the more excited I get about the upcoming season. I've also said it before but I'll say it again, I am FUCKING CHUFFED that Shay Given is finally back to his best. Made fantastic saves, showed bags of bottle, did everything today, that man will get us 10-15 points singlehandedly this season, mark my words.
  16. I was amazed the way we kept our shape, it was clearly a 4-5-1, but it wasn't a boring negative formation, we still went for it. We always had at least 8 or 9 behind the ball, 11 on set pieces, fantastic. Also brilliant to see Given back to his best, making reaction saves, scrambling across goal to stop Scholes, diving low to his right, and also coming out to deal with several really tricky crosses, I'm really chuffed about Given now for the season!!
  17. Which website is the best and easiest to use?

    Paul Ince

Me either, I think he's poor in the transfer market and having the likes of Roberts, Dunn, Reid, and Mokoena in a regular starting XI doesn't fill me with confidence. Also the fact that he failed to hang onto their best players and may yet lose Santa Cruz.

    The Captaincy

Butt captain at Old Trafford... Am I the only one who's a bit nervous about that? And tooj, how exactly does one capitulate someone else?
  20. Is there actually going to be time to sign out of contract players or make trades before the first matchday? I think there's a 48 hour wait.
  21. I really need a GK, I have a slew of Centre halves that include Kaboul, King, Terry, and Carragher.
