Thought the same thing. He was having a crap season on loan the last time I checked, I think?
-
Worth mentioning that's yet another time he's successfully pressed a defender and directly caused a goal...
-
Agreed, but I wonder if we just couldn't identify a RW that we wanted, could afford, and could secure the deal for. I kind of hope that was the case, anyhow.
-
I'm not so sure... Enough people carry on like they've got BPD.
-
I actually feel bad for him for how much he feels he needs to try and prove he truly cares about us and the club. It shouldn't be this hard to convince people!
-
Yep. Think it's about taking over the place.

God loves a trier. Manages to shin a long ball over for Barnes to head in, and then swings a peg at the ball so it bobbles into the path of Isak to finish. He'll take credit for the assists of course, and it's good he keeps having a go, but dearie me he didn't know much about it

I was wondering if we could sign him and have them play 45 minutes each at full intensity

Pretty much what I'm already planning on doing if and when we get one in our team
-
Thought he'd been stabbed.

Will be very sorry to see him leave, I'm very fond of him. Unless we're much more worried about his physical condition than we can reasonably accept, I'd hope he's moving on because we have a bigger upgrade than Ramsdale in mind. If it does happen, that is. Certainly indicates we're having a proper reformation of our setup this summer.

Big game required from Barnes then...
-
Awkward.

Honestly, I think it's just the timing. It's not far away now, so they've got other things happening like Bruno and Murphy commenting on their goals/assists against Spurs in prior matchups, as well.

Yes, I'm sure it was a coincidence. He's already been doing promotional stuff for Australian TV (an interview in which, as I recall, he made noises to the effect that travelling out there immediately after the season finished wasn't ideal...).

Have there ever been any high profile consequences from on pitch conversions being lip read?

I'm looking forward to the 2040s when Ward-Prowse-Dewsbury-Hall dribbles past Walker-Peters-Loftus-Cheek. Hopefully I'll be dead before the 2060s when Calvert-Lewin-Gibbs-White-Ward-Prowse-Dewsbury-Hall puts a penalty past Alexander-Arnold-Oxlade-Chamberlain-Walker-Peters-Loftus-Cheek.

My policy, same as previous summers, is to not get too fussed about links until they're halfway through the doors. Saves a lot of stress...

Seems like the fairest, cleanest future for football. Should get your CV in to FIFA.

It'd be a laugh to get a few mock games set up with VAR manned by amateurs or ex-pros who are sure the system is fine if not for individual idiots. Just to see what the results are.

To be serious, Eddie persisted with Gordon last season massively more than Hall this season, and offered him much more vocal protection. It feels very unlikely he'd have been a starter in game one. Wouldn't have been stunned if it had been Lloyd Kelly, or a similar signing, next season. That said, it may well be that Eddie thought he had to do what he did with Hall to get him to take his career seriously enough to be the best. I don't dismiss the idea lightly that he might have been good enough to play months ago but that those starts would've rewarded an ethic that held him and the team back in the longer term.
