Maybe just saying hello to old friends at Burnley? Wouldn't get too excited just yet.
-
Thought so. I focus on the posts, I'm not too interested in the posters.
-
How so?

I really don't think it's farfetched at all mate, it was well earned.

100%. @TRC was just commenting on some podcast implying today's referee somehow had it in for Bruno because he's booked him a lot*. Some referees have it in for players (Uriah Rennie vs. Shearer) but if anything, Bruno seems to get the rub of the green for most of his time with us. *Turns out that wasn't even true.

It's pretty obvious we should be winning this game if we are what we want to be. But I've largely given up trying to predict results now for this season. We're the definition of inconsistent. Only thing I'm pretty confident of is that we won't look like a great, well oiled team.

Basically up until he was on the verge of a two match suspension. I can't think of many unlucky yellows he's got, but I can think of a few times he was lucky not to get a red.

This is bang on. It makes our ability to assess any signing here very limited. The role of sports/football/technical director is too varied and under-defined to say with high confidence that someone will perform well, or badly, at two different clubs.
-
Big boost if so. Worried about him having a slow start next season and us all arguing whether it should be blamed on the disrupted pre season. Would let him feel properly a part of things if he can play.
-
Maybe Southampton weren't well defended contractually? I got the impression from the media they were caught with their pants down.

As @The College Dropout said, instinctively I wonder if Eddie is telling the truth about this. To try and dissuade Man United from rehearsing dealing with his distribution. Hopefully, anyway...

This is going to sound really churlish but if he was coming back, I would hope there's more to it than him just being homesick. He's got a massive opportunity at his feet at a huge, well resourced club that apparently thinks extremely highly of him. Throwing that away wouldn't say amazing things about his mentality. As I say, that's a very big "if" it was just about homesickness.

Been anonymous these last few games.

It crossed my mind... They'd have to think we're a pretty thick and unstable fanbase to need to be baby walked like that through such a process, though. Shrewd people.
-
It's probably the only opportunity to seriously develop the stadium and a major part of the club and city for a generation or more. Can't blame people for wanting to get it right and make their view heard. It's not a criticism of the owners; if anything it's about trying to help them spend their money more wisely.

Just noticed what a job they did keeping Castore out of any images. Their card was always marked

Not quite at Ameobi's standard, but that's the level he can aspire towards if he's willing to put the work in.
-
Just have to see his penalties to know he can put them away. Again, I'm sure goals will come. The difference in quality between his approach to shots and Longstaff's, who has actually picked up some goals for us, is night and day. In fairness, one thing you can say for Longstaff is his ability to get into threatening positions.
-
It's really disappointing to be honest.
-
Feel like we'd end up deeply regretting letting him go. Just need lots of patience with this one, and it'll come together for him.
-
Added a lot to us today. Probably the biggest compliment is how quiet this thread was after the game. There was one particular blocking run he made in our area today I was delighted with.
-
Pretty sure it's still supposed to be fucked, along with his foot which apparently never fully recovered from Everton last season. Bigger question is whether they actually see these injuries repairing.
-
That's the killer point. But it will be damned hard to get a fitter version of Wilson.
-
It's a nice try, but I really don't think so. It wouldn't explain the headless chicken approach a lot of our players end up with, or the dressing down at Fulham. I think we just have much greater reserves of energy now than we did in December, which gives us a chance of bailing out of situations.
