Anyone else find it interesting that they cut away from the action to a new, very low visibility angle for only the very moment where the usual camera would've had a great view of Joelinton's goalmouth challenge?
-
Yeah it's not worth dwelling on too much as there's a lot of context to go into it e.g. the graph above seems to suggest his longer range passes were much more successful than Longstaff's. It's interesting, but by my eye I know it's partly because he was battling for possession, often single handedly, against two or three Arsenal players. Mistakes are part of the price of shouldering the responsibility to fight in those situations.

I don't really understand this, but doesn't that currently have Italy and Germany in the lead? Assuming Turkey and Belgium don't make the cut... I think the rankings are based only on this season's performances, with nothing previously taken into account.

To be fair, he wasn't always playing it simple and it wasn't a simple game... Would be interested to see the other players' stats for comparison.
-
The weird thing is I was half hoping he wasn't sent off. I'm not sure we would've won, Liverpool style, if he had. I think the sense of injustice fuelled the performance.
-
Was gonna say. I don't see much scowling from him nowadays! He's a lot happier and more confident in himself.

Historically "black" was consciously used and promoted by black people to inject positivity and pride into the colour of people who felt denigrated by the own appearance, and who other non-blacks would avoid referring to as black - and instead called "coloured" - out of politeness to avoid bringing attention to their bad luck in being black. Weirdly, "person of colour" has now come into fashion among people who think they aren't racists. Personally, I'd recommend stopping seeing the word black as a bad thing..!

He just cuts across goal like he did against PSG instead

Without knowing the details, I'd guess this is it. Probably the same recovery time for him whether they risked it dislocating again or played conservatively, so logically they spun the wheel. If it was Bruce or Souness or someone we'd be fully entitled to assume the worst, but there's no serious evidence for that in this case.

If this was a Liverpool player skimming the back of Willock's head, we'd be very fucked off.
-
Just been reminded we have a player with this name, so thought I'd get this thread off page 6. Where exactly is he? Is this the last year of his contract?
-
It's starting to get really conspicuous now. You'd almost think they were deliberately avoiding talking about him.

Fantastic tonight. MOTM between him and Joelinton for me. Seemed to turn up everywhere snuffing out everything. ...That said, could he have done a bit better controlling our lads during the Havertz incident?
-
He does need to pack this in, though... Get it wrong and he could end up getting done for assault... A mad tackle I can handle but these Italian scooter style attacks off the ball are shitty when there's no apparent justification. Havertz would've been fair game.
-
Some fantastic touches tonight. He wasn't just rampaging, he was elegant with the ball too.

I think that's the way I'm phrasing it too. No problem at all with this set up, I'm a signed up Tino fan, but the questions come more from how much it subtracts from Trippier and our attack, given how crucial he is to our structure and individual players like Almiron. But Livramento is a massive talent.

I've learned to never count us out of a result, but what a massive 3 points this is.

Eddie Howe is a license to print money for any Board.

One of the low key best stories of the season
-
He's got those finishes in him. If he can put them together consistently, we've got a hell of a player.
-
Delighted for him. Seems to be loving it here which is great.

Thanks for the update, will be interesting to see what happens.

We have one or two Swansea supporters on here don't we? Isn't @Groo one?
