The top 4 could get Anelka or Mccarthy for that price who would be far less risky and score just as many. He wouldn't bother going anywhere else.

He will disrupt the harmony of the current squad so no thanks. Furthermore, i don't see him as a player that puts in everything for the team like barton or smith.

I think Dyer and Solano going should be seen as an opportunity for the club. Solano has been a really good player for us but he can't have many seasons left in him (I doubt he'd have been given a new contract  - even a 12 month one - next season) and Dyer is one of those players who never really has been a consistent performer (and he is no longer a kid). If getting these two off the wage bill and generating cash sees a new, hungry player or two arrive then I'll be happy enough.

 

Yeah, especially in the case of Dyer. I'd have snapped that £6 million out of West Ham's hands so quickly and brutally that they couldn't w*** again, personally.

As a player he's always been decent (bar the yellow cards, natch). If he can develop as he is supposed to be able to, he'll be a bargain. If not, it'll have been worth a try. But it's naive of us to trot out the "he's changed/he's not as bad as [insert bad boy player name here]" just because he plays for us.

Support the team, support the players, support the club. But be honest. That's just the way i like to do my football.
