Keep in mind we've got Wolves and Liverpool away within a week of this, as well.

I'm so all-in that I've started maintaining a few simple charts comparing 21/22 (blue) with 22/23 (red). Obviously very early days, but we're already +3 vs. same opposition with Forest (h) subbed in for Norwich (h) from last season. We got absolutely nowt from Wolves & Liverpool away last season, so the next two games are another good opportunity to extend this gap. Unsurprisingly, every metric I'm tracking by gameweek is currently better than it was at this stage last season, and we're 11 places higher in the league than we were after GW3 in 21/22. I'll keep adding bits as the season goes. It's just struck me that it would be good to look at goal difference / xG difference on a specific game basis, rather than just doing it by gameweek as I have currently, so that the strength of opposition is taken into account. I think those numbers would be an even better gauge of our progress.

Dubravka Krafth Lascelles Botman Dummett Shortstaff Longstaff Anderson Murphy Wood Ritchie Fraser’s seemingly injured again, based on Howe’s presser. Fernandez might be an option instead of Botman, as he’s been back in full training for a couple of weeks now. Would like to see Lewis starting instead of Dummett, as he’s in the same boat as Fernandez, but not sure either would be thrown straight in without an U23s game or two.
