Also proper hoops Ashley and Pardew, so work that one out.

Improved prize money compared to last year, when we pip Southampton to the league. So potentially £6m extra there if we stay top of the league.

Benwell proper hates the Mackems.

Pewa sowa grapes from Parky, nowt more. Could say that sort of guff about anyone in any given season.

So what's to factor in by this time next year then? -New TV money -Wonga deal -Other minor commercial partnerships that have emerged -Sales of Perch, Inman and Cabaye -Harper and Simpson leaving on frees -Gosling/Gutierrez leaving on loan for a full season between them -Remy and de Jong coming in on loans -Kinnear's contract -Less matchday revenue due to less home matches Any significant new contracts in the past year? Can only think of smaller ones like Dummett and Newton.

It is a totally shit situation to be in. I personally cut all monetary ties to the club this summer, cancelling NUFC TV and the membership. Haven't been to a game this season despite plenty of free ticket offers and won't be going to one until either the manager goes or the ownership changes. I still watch every match by whatever means I can, though often not live.

Just to embellish instead of being an arse, I tried to think of the team I've seen this season who play with a hell of a lot of width and swap wingers the most, which is probably West Ham: http://i.imgur.com/I3Vft1k.png This is from their 2-0 win over Norwich. 7 is Jarvis, 23 is Downing (between Cole and Nolan). My point is that it's too crude a measure for me, even if I agree with your general sentiment about shape at times. You could look at that and say they were far too narrow, but they obviously weren't.
-
They did swap, though, and it will have still skewed the data for the "6 players within the width of the centre circle" comment, as it always does.

I just want us to play players in their best positions in a shape the whole team is sure of that doesn't completely undermine our own ability to perform. Lovely passing play that cuts through the opponnents final third is just a pipe dream. Without Santon, I thought Pardew would choose a more sensible corner taker, but no, he had Dummet taking all the corners this time. So we're treated to the site of him running to the top right corner and sprinting to get back to defend as a left back while Debuchy is at a loss as to whether he should chase back and cover his own side or make an allowance for Dummett and go more central. He ran about 2 mile more than he needed to. We had 6 midfielders/attackers whose overall position was as narrow as the centre circle... http://i58.tinypic.com/ax1mwm.jpg .. they all seemed to wander left and right at their own whim...usually left, leaving Cisse as a hopeless cause on the right. Gouffran and Sissoko's average positions will be like that because they swapped wings.

Only joined a couple of weeks back. Was booked for an awful tackle before giving away a penalty last week, got hooked at half-time today. The delayed showing of that game has been put back until 10.55pm due to the bad language of the crowd Usually on BBC Alba at 5.30pm. Never heard anything like it.

Nar, it's the turtle.

Aye. They're knocking that one down.

That is fucking shocking like

I didn't like the school metaphor, let it down IMO Well place your own little metaphor in there instead and you get the same outcome People jumping in to defend Marv over Pardew, doesn't make sense. Quite shocked you hold this viewpoint if I'm honest, Brett.

I thought that was quite good
