As usual, is the answer not somewhere in between what people are arguing here? I know that's a relatively boring conclusion, but I can see valid points on both sides. For example, the £35m for Carroll should - in my opinion - be getting reinvested as transfer fees, signing on fees, wages and bonuses - but I have absolutely no complaints about the players we've brought in so far, despite their value - and I include Ben Arfa, Gosling and Tiote in that too. The six players are all very exciting to me, although I appreciate only one of them has proven his quality in our shirt for a sustained period so far. Also, if the money isn't fully reinvested it's not like it will be going into Ashley's pockets at the expense of the club, but it may save him from dipping into his own funds again to keep the balance sheet in the black for another season. I'm sure we were getting close to "breaking even" anyway, though, without having to sell players to do so - but I'm not as in tune with our finances as some are, so I may be wrong on that.

It gets the general point across though, surely? How do you think Dave is relaying the gist of it back to you? Might be wrong but I'm assuming he's using a translator.
-
Use Google Translate you fucking dinosaur.
-
Oh, oh... he fixed it... not that mad, then.
-
I'd be satisfied with that, personally. He should be too. Nixon, you've made Dave so mad that he's broke the thread. Look. Look what you did. He's gone against everything he's ever stood for.

Not sure. Wait a moment while I pull another completely arbitrary figure out of my arse. ...

£45.65k? Keep the peace?

Aye, that little joke didn't get enough credit. Belter!

You're better than this.

He's always been infamous for the injuries. Looked like he would be an outstanding player at one point, but kept getting knocks and tears. Just read the Wiki page, seems not much has changed since I used to follow Valencia a bit. PS: By "outstanding" I mean one of the very best around, he was brilliant at his peak but couldn't sustain it.
-
He's definitely injury prone.

Yes, if you want to look like a Barratt Fruit Salad I was going to take the piss out of yet another post mentioning an Adidas jacket "that you own", but nothing can top this.
-
Aye, I did do the England thing purposely... before I actually got what madras was mocking me about... then I added in the "like" bit instead. I've got my eye on you Logic, you observant bugger.
-
Yeah, we've done that before as well. Like I said though, it's a last resort really. If we ever were to go down the advertising route or whatever, it looks better if we have as many posts as possible. As I said, we should already be on 4 million or so. I don't really want to cull more if we can avoid it.
-
ps: cant believe i just took a typing knock from madras. ffs.

My English is like, exemplary, so he's not quite at that level, but I'm impressed. Suppose he did have that season at Watford ages ago to help him along.
-
Cheers. He was fucking turboshit though. Played in the first game at left-back for South Africa, then was rightly dropped for the next two. Slowest/worst player I can remember from the WC.

Really good interview on NUFC TV like. Seems excited to get going, like honestly excited. More emotion than your typical first interview. Speaks great English, too.

Was he fuck. Lucas Thwala.

I wish. It has a bit of everything in there though, you have to admit. Even slotted "en masse" in to match the theme. Piece of piss this journalism lark.
-
Aye, it's an option. We've done it before though, and it always seems a shame to me. I'm sure we've already lost a good two years (ish) worth of posts at least (can't remember when this place actually started). Really we should be up around the 4 million mark or something. To put that into context RAWK (Liverpool) is at 8 million now (and I'm convinced that's the biggest English team-specific forum about - although I could be wrong). Seems daft to keep knocking ourselves back in size when the solutions could be found in other ways.

"The recent influx of French footballing talent into the Toon has even caused users of fan forum Newcastle-Online to go Gallic in appreciation, with their unique member images ("avatars") being updated en masse with the blue, white and red of the world-famous tricolour." There, it's written for you Mark, Miles, Luke, Simon, Lee, etc. etc. I dare one of you to take it.

I told you you'd jumped the gun. I was busy trying to find something intricate and you just banged a shite version of the flag up there without any thought. You were the first though and I'm glad this has happened. We should try and get a line in one of the local rags due to our dorky appreciation, just for the shits and giggles of it.

Yeah it's the server again. The post count growing to 2.5 million taking it's toll, apparently. Host's solution is to get us to upgrade to 4gb of RAM and pay another £12 per month for the pleasure. Really it needs sorting once and for all, which it hopefully will be now SMF 2.0 (updated forum software) has just been released.
