Arsenal are interested but they won't pay anything like £15m either. They too are really looking for experience though. http://images.google.com/url?source=imgres&ct=img&q=http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Sport/Pix/pictures/2008/12/29/1230575215173/Jonathan-Woodgate-001.jpg&usg=AFQjCNEqWw7VqmVkfVm3ctnaYqFCTYQ9jA

Bllody gorgeous. Watch the away kit be horrendous by comparison.
-
Problem with that for me is that its too similar to the shite we've watched all season long. Yep, fair enough it means some continuity, but i think we need at least 4 changes to that team to freshen things up and have a team that wants to win. Aye, exactly. Was just picking 11 from that squad. The front six in particular needs freshening up.
-
Would agree with that, except I'd want another striker brought in. Shola, Carroll, Lovenkrands and Ranger will hardly be good enough, even in the Championship. Two strikers, rather than the one. I was tempted myself to suggest that. Hopefully Shola still fucks off...

More instability versus current poor owners at a critical time in our history? It's like Sophie's Choice.
-
I'd be happy enough with: Harper, Krul, Forster, Beye, R. Taylor, S. Taylor, Edgar, Bassong, Enrique, Kadar, Jonas, LuaLua, Butt, Nolan, Guthrie, Duff, Lovenkrands, Carroll, Ameobi, Ranger. ...although obviously there will be some who are on wages that are too high and some who we receive offers for that we can't turn down, but I wouldn't mind keeping all of them as the nucleus for next season. Ameobi is stretching it, in particular, but he might be alright at that level... Harper Beye S. Taylor Bassong Enrique Jonas Nolan Guthrie Duff Carroll Lovenkrands That would be my starting XI out of that lot, although again I appreciate that this is very unlikely and that Shearer will probably have pinpointed one or two areas that he feels can be improved even in the Championship on this current lot. Add to that a defender or two, a midfielder or two and another quick striker and I think we'd be set. Get rid of/lose/sell: Owen, Viduka, Martins, Xisco, Barton, Gonzalez, Cacapa, Geremi, Smith and Coloccini.

He gets the ball and scores a goal... Beck, ford, Jermaine Jermaine Beckford... he gets the ball and scores a goal, Jermaine, Jermaine Beckford. Catchy.
-
Journal reckons he's now back-tracked, after an interview on Onside.dk. Hedging his bets. I'd like him to stay if his wages are as small as rumoured, he will score goals in the CCC.
-
Despite the situation I still can't wait to get the new shirt. I will be wearing it relentlessly in California this summer. Hope they've got the printing sorted out in time for me going (8 days!) like, as I want to get a number "22" (because of my love for Nicky Butt... not really) and my "summer camp nickname" put on it before I head off.
-
Jonas was dropped for him, Enrique probably could have started (with Duff moving forward)... think he was actually chosen ahead of people.
-
Let's hope he means it and that he's allowed to stay. Wanktastic if it happens.
-
If we had those 4 defenders, we would be absolutely solid at the back down there. maybe keeping those 4 should be our priority They'd definitely be my priority, with Beye being made club captain and Taylor vice captain.
-
You serious? Don't tell me your surprised at the endless stupidity that swamps our club! That wouldn't be stupidity though, it would suggest that someone inside the club is making a cut on the deal. Or that he was a signing made out of pure desperation (a last resort) and as such was able to bend us over the table during negotiations...
-
Krul, Beye, S. Taylor, Bassong, Enrique, Jonas, Guthrie, Carroll, Lovenkrands, Lua Lua, Edgar. Wouldn't complain about any of them being kept, won't shed any tears at all over anybody else leaving who isn't on that list.
-
No surprise. One more away game for me next term then.
-
I wonder if he's already been told (or given the impression) that he wouldn't be getting kept on? Would seem strange though, considering he was given a start yesterday in the "biggest game in our Premiership history".
-
As just said, I'm not shocked or anything, just cannot believe the story is out - with quotes - within a day of relegation and that it has come from Lovenkrands' agent above anyone else.
-
I can guarantee that all the players have been onto their agents by now. Or the other way round. I'm not that naive like, but to see a story less than 24 hours after our fate is sealed that has quotes from a player's agent trying to pimp him about really takes the biscuit for me. I thought they'd at least give it until the bank holiday was over with. Wonder who else Lovelyhands had solid offers from in January? I'm sure I recall we weren't the only club in for him.
-
Sadly, he was one I actually thought might want to stick around and be a first-team player for us next season. Think he'd be very lively played up-front in the Championship alongside a target man. How naive of me.
-
We haven't even been relegated for a full 24 hours yet man.

They have a huge squad, many of whom they'll be able to shift this summer to clear a massive hole in the wage-bill... and with their backing they won't be too worried about how much they get in for said players, they'll just want them off the books. As well as this, the likes of Jones (if he still wants to go) will go for big, big money if they do agree to a sale. You've just got to hope whoever does come in spunks all the money away. They should get Sven, IMO, or someone similar as he's a bit unstable at the best of times and seems to bobble around between jobs. An experienced foreign manager with a good knowledge of the game and the reputation to attract big players to them. Sickening really when you consider what we'll be doing. Let's just hope they do go for a Curbishley or a Strachan...
-
I was just elsewhere saying Sunderland probably won't fuck up their next appointment, but Strachan would be a pretty rank one in my opinion. Can't see it.
