He's better on the left, no doubts, but to insinuate he's less than "capable" on the right makes me cry.
-
Shame he's only capable on the left. What a load of bollocks.
-
I don't think I've ever loved the right side of our team more than I do at the moment.

Ferdinand has been quality for Sunderland, according to my cousin. Been raving about him. Yeah i heard that they were saying he's miles better than Coloccini, obvious bias but the last few games he seems to have been totally wank and all he did against us was win headers against Oba, who's about 6 inches smaller. I think Ferdinand is a very average defender tbh and the only reason your cousin probably thinks he's any good is because of the absolute rubbish they've had in that position for the last 10 years,. Was just biting to Shak's wind-up more than anything. I'm not saying I'd rather have Anton here than Colo. Now Anton over Taylor would be another matter... And as for the bold, that was my exact comment to the cous when he was banging on about him.
-
Probably be nice, but it's the £££.
-
Your cousin supporting the mackems mean his opinion is void. He had no choice, in fairness. I trust his opinions though. He knows his stuff.

We've gone back 20 years man. Has nobody heard? Utter fucking codswallop of the highest cunting order.
-
People have very short memories.
-
The club should fucking fork out and get about a dozen made with varying quotes of his on them. Would never happen, but would make SJP look mint. Should do this for other managers too, as the ground is bare as fook.
-
Enrique looked nervous as fook in that interview, first time I've heard him speak, doesn't sound as backward as you would expect from the looks of him.
-
Swap Shola for Viduka and that team has the potential to be very, very good, potentially the best starting XI we can field. Even though I realise it's basically what we had last season during the good run with KK with Colo and Gutierrez in for Faye/Geremi.
-
Not sure what's happening to me, but Martins (and Butt) are winning me over time and time again this season after being two players I never really liked (well, with Oba, just not to the extent that most on here seem to.) Obviously he's still got his faults, but he's still here and he's still scoring good goals, and that's good enough for me.
-
I'm not sure I've ever seen a player like him at SJP before. Hopefully he stays fit and keeps getting better.
-
Have to keep it the same after that second half last night, surely? Owen will be just as useful from the bench, if needs be. Terrible message to send if one of Oba/Shola gets dropped on recent form. Knowing us, one will get injured anyway meaning there'll be no decision to make.
-
Just hope Enrique does the same because I do believe that Beye, Taylor, Coloccini, Enrique is the best back-four we can/will muster.
-
The bloke had no pre-season, has been injured for months and has barely played. Think this is harsh to be honest. Anybody worth their salt will tell you how important a solid pre-season usually is to a player making a good start in a new campaign, unfortunately for Beye he's had a severely disrupted one. Same excuse should be applied to others as well though, I will add, not just fan favourites, but people (not you) are too quick to call someone crap without looking at the circumstances.
-
Still want Kev back, tbh.

Was going to start a similar thread. Second half was another abomination. Did we string 3 passes together at all? Far too many long balls, players hiding, Ameobi winning fuck all... hard to watch.
-
Would love us to fuck them over here, best cure for that abomination on Saturday. Martins could do with a goal, like to see one of Guthrie/Barton stick one in and for Gutierrez to break his duck too. Not too much to ask, is it?
-
Duff in for N'Zogbia and that's what we'll see. Harper, Cacapa, Bassong, N'Zogbia, Geremi, Xisco and Carroll on the bench.
-
I remember when we brought Sibierski in to be our main front man. Halcyon days indeed.
-
I'd still black his one half good eye. Give over, he'd fucking braille you. Porridge on keyboard moment.
-
ironically everyone said, when viduka was injured, that he wasn't the sort of player you need in a relegation fight. ultimately it was his class, and also the quality of martins or owen, that pulled us out of the relegation positions, not the grafters like milner or smith who had us down there in the first place. I'd walk on broken glass to get those three back up top again, with Barton, Gutierrez and one other in behind them. Very good thread by the way, with some cracking points in it. Yesterday was turgid in terms of football quality and for all you can blame conditions and the nature of the game, these are professional players coming off the back of two decent results who should be better and should know better. The lack of movement is the main issue for me, though, and will hopefully be resolved to some extent with the return of Gutierrez and the axing of 2/3 of yesterdays midfield. I don't believe Kinnear is deliberately trying to get us playing "long", although by the same token he's hardly a proprietor of beautiful football either.
-
Neither did the early booking (which I thought was harsh). He was always likely to be quiet after that. Fair point. If he hadn't been booked I think he'd have tripped Diouf 35 yards or so out instead of pulling out of the tackle as he had to in the build up to their 2nd goal. Never! I enjoy stating the obvious Surely time for a username change after yesterday, by the way? Your lack of knee-jerkiness is most disappointing.
