  1. Neither did the early booking (which I thought was harsh). He was always likely to be quiet after that. Fair point. If he hadn't been booked I think he'd have tripped Diouf 35 yards or so out instead of pulling out of the tackle as he had to in the build up to their 2nd goal. Never!
  2. I'll be more relaxed a second time but I'm not expecting it to be any better. Being away from home, I felt more relaxed than usual watching it, despite there being some gimpy Mackem fuckers in attendance. Still had my phone off all afternoon and been to sleep for most of it though, avoiding MOTD now too, haven't felt this low for a good while because of the football Onwards and upwards and all that. Could be a "monsoon match" kick up the arse all over again, with a bit of luck.
  3. I'll watch it again and see if he looks any better next time. I'm not sure this is a game I could stomach again, to be honest, was considering doing the same. The whole thing was fucking bollocks, to put it blunty.
  4. I kept looking at the gaps for Butt and couldn't see him, as for his injection, I don't doubt his commitment. He's just a poor footballer who has become a liability more often than not. Don't doubt that we need to be looking for better ASAP, but still more use than most today, which is a crying shame.
  5. Also, none of the 2nd half was played in the midfield until they went 2-1 up and started hitting us on the break. Everything else bypassed it as both teams tried to use the windy conditions to their advantage.
  6. If he was quality we wouldn't have gifted the mackems the midfield, for most of the 2nd half they just walked through us. He was the only one winning the ball from what I could see. Guthrie was nullified after 3 minutes and should not have reappeared for the second half, the fact he "couldn't" risk tackling Diouf stitched Butt up as much as anything for the free-kick, then we made a fucking substitute as well. Criminal to make a change at this level when defending a set-piece of that nature. Butt had a pain injection mid-match and was obviously carrying an injury, yet still put in a decent shift in what was a fucking terrible game. I'm usually as blinkered as any about him after past events, but he was one of the few who impressed me today (along with Coloccini and the subs.)
  7. Has it ever actually come out about Faye, other than through hearsay? Was gutted to see him go as well, especially when you looked at the quality of our other centre-halves at the time. Cannot believe Andy Gray tried to blame Beye for their first goal today, when it was Taylor who completely lost Cisse.
  8. Thought he was quality apart from giving away that freekick, personally, and people know I'm not a fan of his at all.
  9. Same team if Butt's fit, I suppose, although with a much stronger bench: Harper, Cacapa, Enrique, Barton, Gutierrez, N'Zogbia and Xisco.
  10. BBC regularly miss players off their squad lists.

Aye, just read the report I thought Sam got the first goal. I was behind the far goal as I had to get moved for the first team players to watch the game. JONAS WAS GETTING PHYSIO WHEN I WAS GAWPING THROUGH THE WINDOWS

He got a couple didn't he? Something like 12 goals in 14 games at U18/reserve level now?

    Sebastien Bassong

I thought he struggled a bit, personally. Not surprising against the quality they had down their right and considering he was left exposed time and time again after Beye got sent off.
  14. Good result, that, whatever way you spin it. Can't be too disheartened by the penalty after our two goals. Never seen anything like that first one.

    Hull City - wtf?

Does he support us, do you know? Sunderland through and through isn't he?

    Hull City - wtf?

... Spurs? I dunno. For as much as I dislike them, they're a proper club with a strong history and a big fanbase. I think the PL would be worse-off without them... and we'd potentially be 6 points down per season...

    Hull City - wtf?

Is it going to improve the worst education system in the country, or do you think they'll concentrate on sex eduction to make sure that Hull isn't top of the "league table" for mothers under the age of 16? Why on earth do you think the city needs the football club to be in the Premiership? It's a rugby city, and always will be. Surely for a city like Hull anything positive in relation to sport can only be a good thing. As far as I've seen from a personal level it's got more kids involved with football (I coach here), there's loads more orange and black shirts about, people I know are talking about little else aside from the football. Landlord, the lads I know who are from here and the surrounding areas, all the handymen I've had out to my place over the past month (there's been a few)... all that's on people's lips is how the team is doing. People are buzzing. That was not happening last season until they made it to the playoffs. There are more opportunities opening up at the university thanks to an increased interest in Hull and Phil Brown and how they've been doing so well - at least in my subject area. We've had a lot of involvement with HCFC for a lot of years as far as sports science goes from the academies upwards and it's getting us attention because of that. It's generating income for the city in the fact it's a near sell-out sporting event that they can host every 2 weeks, it'll be bringing sponsorship into the area, the pubs around me are absolutely rammed when they're on the TV now, which they certainly weren't last season. The atmosphere inside the pubs on a matchday and about the streets is brilliant. It's all money for what is apparently the poorest city in the UK. I struggle to see how it hasn't been a majorly positive thing for the city, to be honest. The difference between the last time I was here (May) and now is easily noticeable. Obviously it's not the answer to all of Hull's problems (and there's a lot of them), but I'd be amazed if you were to look into it and see it made no difference - or had a negative effect - on at least some of them.
  18. Desperate for us to win here, even moreso than usual, but I cannot see it unless we can give Oba a start.
  19. Always liked a dive, though. Shame because he's a cracking player. I miss Sunday night La Liga immensely with not having Sky. Great thing to stick on, as there's chuff all else.

    Hull City - wtf?

Apart from Brown being a bit of a dodgy cunt with where he's from and what his team is, I'm glad to see them doing well. It's buzzing round these parts at the minute, could hear the atmosphere from the game in my flat today (only live 5 mins away, like). Many more teams I'd wish relegation upon first, and not just because I'm living here at the minute. Bolton, Wigan, Stoke easily before them. This city needs it man... it really does
  21. says it all about our plight atm that this is the game i'm relying on to give me my weekly dose of football joy
  22. I am at Hull Uni at the minute aswell, where are yer staying?, what are yer studying? etc. 2nd year of Sports Coaching, got a flat on Victoria Avenue. Nah I might be doing 6 a side at some point but not yet, I am 1st year human geog and am staying in downs in the lawns If you ever fancy a full-size game, then drop me a PM. We've got an intramural team set up, play on Wednesdays at 2pm on campus, league of 12.
  23. Surely a good thing. Without the aid of the extended nests NE5 and Mick won't be able to remember what each other/themselves have written and they'll just have to go round and round in circles arguing the same thi.... oh. Just messing. It should be a decent addition. Nightmare reading through threads like that on iPod/phone.
