Honestly, I am stuck between a rock and a hard place with ASM at the moment. He is needed to create opportunities (about the only one) but at the same time he has me screaming at him to try and do his fair share of the dirty work...defending. The position we are in we need every single player giving their best both offensively and defensively otherwise we are going down. He needs to remember that it is a team and a team game. I would only have him on the pitch for the last twenty minutes in any of the upcoming games. He has been awful in the last two games, no effort to close passing lanes or to even approach players with the ball. Really poor.

Need dubs behind the defence. I would stick with the 3 central defenders system, get schar and fede either side of lascelles. Manquillo is playing ok at wingback and we need to try lewis or murphy instead of ritchie. I think hayden needs to hold with willock and almiron either side of him, they put in a shift and technically can get us up the field better. ASM and calum up top. If we did somehow score, bring joe on (ASM) for another defensive shift with the midfield.

I honsetly agree, but i just think if we tried to attack we would have been on the end of a bigger thrashing. Our team cant string three passes together at the moment for whatever reason, only tactics that spring up are get it forward (wings or calum) asap and hope for the best... Sad but true.

I would say the following players are decent prem quality: Wilson ASM (but a defensive liability) Almiron Dubs All of the others are only decent in about 50% of their games and the rest are championship at best... We are a relegation candidate that only a superior manager can keep up. i.e. Rafa or similar. JEvery year our rivals improved where our lack of or stupid investment has taken us backwards from where we were with Rafa at the helm.

Aye, would help if they were comfy in their positions. I would stick with the back five against the better teams and a 3-5-2- against the lesser ones. Murphy and manquillo as wing backs. Fede and schar back in the middle (unless they are utter crap in training???)

I think we all get too distracted by the takeover. The reality is that we have a team of about 90% championship players and 10% prem players, we expect them to stack up against the top team in the prem. And to boot they have lacked any decent strategy/coaching for 2.5 years. Chelsea are playing champions league football and we are playing champions(hip)... I didnt expect anything less than a loss yesterday. The players actually surprised me by reaching 70 mins before caving in.

For me his selection mistakes yesterday were krafth, clark and ritchie. Should have had schar, fede and murphy instead. Got the tactics right. No other way to play at the moment whilst devoid of confidence.

Watched the game also and have a different view; most, but not all, of his "presses" are efforts to cut out the passing options of the attacker, doing this you limit their possibilities of getting closer to a clear pass/shot. Evrything does not depend on an actual tackle being made. He didnt play well but he wasnt that bad either. We deffo played tighter (less distance) between defence, midfield and attack but this also had the disadvantage of meaning we were tucked into the final third gor the whole game. The first james goal was a classic stretch of the defence through very clever switching of play, added to the fact that nobody really got close enough to him either (lack of fitness as whole team puffing at 60 mins). We actually looked like we might frustrate them with the tacktics. Rafa played this way but much better organised and with clear lines out of defense when in possession. We had no other option yesterday but to play this way... or open up and risk a 9 goal ondlaught.

Might be the game to drop ASM and keep it tight until 20 mins from end before unleashing him???
-
Damn, thought he was still in chelski reserves...

I would go for a 5-3-2: ------------------Dubs (if fit?)--------------------- Murphy-----Fede----Lascelles------Clark-------Manquillo -------almiron-----hayden---------longstaff-------- ----------------Wilson-------ASM-------------- Depending on the state of play: Willock & Fraser to come on for longstaff/ASM and a bit of energy boost in the last 30.
-
I would go for: Tarkowski Rob holding or Kurt Zouma (change to a back three with wing backs) Doucoure (or similar defensive holding midfielder) Lamptey Zaha (would mean we had a front three that could shred defences)
-
If Rafa had been available I would have gone there. The one with most prem experience and building clubs from lower echelons is Eddie Howe, plays decent football and has a style/schematic which would be ok for the next couple of years.

Watched Palace on Monday and they looked pretty decent against an arsenal side that is on the up...
-
I would like to see first of all a defensively tight team but with attacking potential: -----------------Dubs------------------ -----Schar------Lascel-------Fede----- Murphy---Hayd----Willock--------Lewis (?Manquillo) --------Almiron------St max---------- -------------Wilson--------------- The main worry for me is that the back three are pretty slow, hopefully only one of the wing backs would push on at the same time

Would be a good sigining, the tune fits the current state of joy: Sunday Monday happy days Tuesday Wednesday happy days Thursday Friday happy days Saturday what a day Rockin' all week for you

I would probably leave lascelles out of that as he was decent under Rafa, but will never be able to trap/pass a football. Clark and Ritchie were not even good enough for a top ten championship side yesterday. Huge gaps and bad decisions time after time. The whole team looked two yards off the mark yesterday. Confidence seems really low and it shows in the decisions they make. Shelvey showed what he can do; four decent passes, easily dispossessed and a red card in waiting. Stupidest fouls from a very stupid man... Bruce was clueless in his selection, but it was nice to see fraser get a run out, sure he can do more for us...

St maximans yoynger brother judging by style of play. They actually played together a few years ago. Stand out performer in belgium national team over last year
-
I would accept just about any half decent pleb instead of the blobby brain dead bassa we have at the moment
-
Roberto Martinez has been touted as the next manager for Barcelona, they think he has matured with international football and is now capable of holding his own in league situations whereas previously he was seen as too blinkered with playing a style instead of substance and points. Would be an absolute coup if we got him....
-
Would have him in an instant over Bwucie. Anything would be better (although mr. lickspittle comes to mind after pardew)?
-
Villa were totally pedestrian FFS, if we can´t beat that lot playin crap football we don´t deserve a thing. Very disjointed, all over the place. Far too easy down the wings for them I thought. Neither team looked at all like they were going to score and then villa just upped their fight and started to gain momentum, which we had no answer for at all.
-
Aye, very well put. Sums up exactly what and where we are today.
-
Forgot to mention: Shelvey... "world class luxury player" who is allowed to strut around doing nothing as long as he makes a couple of raking diagonal passes that end up as nothing.
-
Agree 100%, Krafth and Clark are slow, easily turned and crap in the air (as well as not being able to pass)... The exact requisites for a prem league defender???
