There shouldn’t be any external influence on an investigation so they need to keep their noses out. Not that they won’t have an influence as our protracted takeover showed.

Grim yes but the truth if not the asbestos, it’s the silica dust from broken concrete, lead/ cadmium/ chromium in paints, old insulation (fibreglass), PCBs in coolants and industrial oils. Wouldn’t want to sift through a demolished building with no PPE or knowledge of what was within the building.

Same for the rescuers many of them are civilians on the scene with no PPE going through this stuff.

Normally a trial follows a charge to establish guilt. That’s what the special commission will do.

Nothing against that in the rules as long as it’s fair market value though. I suspect where City have got it wrong is they created front companies to sponsor them who have no staff or business.

We don’t need to be sneeky like City creating phony companies as a front to sponsor ourselves. There are massive projects on in SA i.e. NEOM, The Line etc. Billions in contracts to be dished out. The conversation just needs to go along lines of “Oh so you’re interesting in this £300m 10 year contract, sure let’s talk, oh by the way do you know I have football team that needs sponsors?”.
