  1. Absolutely no way it fizzles out with the current state of play between Qatar and Saudi. Whoever gets the outcome they favour will immediately spin it as a victory. That's the only glimmer of hope that I see that the Saudis dont want to lose face by being beaten by Qatar.
  2. Don't think the Saudis care that much about owning us compared to fucking over Qatar.
  3. More dopey cunts will lose their jobs as KSA is beINs biggest market and they've had their license revoked. They've already had job cuts and this will make it worse.
  4. As a former beIN employee I would imagine many of his sources would be within beIN. Who knows if their delibrately feeding him negative spin to destabilise the bid.
  5. Not sure who he is an how he is disclosing such seemingly detailed information but it doesn't make for good reading. Mid east journalist who formerly worked for beIN sports.
  6. If that happens then on point 2 we should make fake bids for crap players and let PSG or Leeds United (if the rumours of Qatari interest are true) buy them up at inflated fees.
  7. Al from Schar losing the ball by trying to dribble out from defence.
  8. Maybe a good move to force the PL's hand. KSA is beIN's biggest market and by locking them out they lose a lot of their revenue. In turn PL clubs lose revenue when beIN ask PL for a rebate. PL clubs pressurise PL to sort things out. PL agrees takeover and rights division with KSA. PL clubs income maintained.
  9. This is probably BS but the example you give isn't the same. The owners of Emirates don't own Arsenal and then sponsor another club.
  10. Didn't know who he was and googled him, he's been on loan for three years at lower league clubs. All probably sorted by a director football etc and so Ancelotti probably never met the guy. Not as bad as it looks on the surface. still made me chuckle a bit though.
  11. Can't harm it and at least by retweeting at the PL it feels like you're doing something active rather than sitting around waiting.Who knows get it trending and shine a light on how long the PL have taken and maybe pressure will mount on them.
  12. Saudi takeover and Villa relegated for their cuntery when we got relegated would be the cherry on the cake.
  13. The lack of mobility and energy in our central midfield costs us as we get overrun easily. Poor retention of the ball as we never make the simple pass that retains the ball but hit cross field passes that causes us to lose possession like Carroll hit at Gayle which led to Villas attack that earned the corner that they scored from. Edit: Still a point though and hopefully a better future ahead.
  14. Will the transfer window be aligned with other european leagues? Pointless being able to sign players from August if the other main leagues shut down late August. We would be forced to sign from rival PL clubs and that's difficult at the best of times.

    Transfer rumours

Reubens being suggested because Eze plays for QPR and hes on the board of QPR. He knows the player and for that reason be is being named as the driving force behind it. If true I dont see him suggesting other players but rather leave it to a DoF.
  16. Looks like Chelsea are using the financial implications of the health crisis to their advantage. Liverpool dont have as wealthy backers and cannot make these type of signings under the current climate if the Saudi takeover happens we should be in a similar position
  17. Right, but the presence of COVID and the halting of football had already started. If it was four weeks in and then football was cancelled etc I could understand. I think the delays are the consequence of a perfect (bad?) storm. You have a majority stake owner with question marks hanging over them, both in terms of human rights, but also their association (whether proven or otherwise) with piracy of the Premier League's product. You have to consider the legal permutations of rejecting them, the response of Man City's owners, the other 18 Premier League owners. Running parallel to all of that is Project Restart, players refusing to train/play, the TV contracts you have to renegotiate on the fly. I believe one of the lawyer's on Twitter said the league's legal department is very small. There are only so many hours in the day. I'm not for one minute saying the league have handled this well - they haven't. Sometimes no decision is worse than the wrong decision, and this is evidence of that. What I am saying is that it does not shock me it's taking a long time. Man Citys owners wont be a problem as the UAE is Saudi Arabia's ally, think you're confusing them with Qatar. Though I agree with the rest of what you are saying.
  18. See F.4. "including for the avoidance of doubt by virtue of being a shadow director or acquiring Control of the Club". Is that not in relation to an individual, how could a legal entity like PIF be judged on those criteria?
  19. Is it that complex though? The D&OT is in regards to the named directors and PIF, and the checks are against them. Now they are checking for criminal links or convictions. So the tests are. 1) Due the consortium have the funds for the purchase and funding of Newcastle for the next few years... Well that is a no brainer. 2) Do the D&O's have any criminal links or convictions? Right, this is not about hearsay, accusations by X, complaints of human rights abuse by Y. Do they or don't they have criminal links or convictions? 3) Have the D&O's made any false claims in the proposal to the premier league. Again if 2 is clear then 3 should be as well. It shouldn't be that difficult to run a background check on D&Os. I don't see why its taking 7 weeks plus and also why the media seem to think the premier league is open to accommodating hearsay and accusations. If there are no convictions then there is no case to answer and the rest is noise until someone brings it to court and one of the D&Os is found guilty! That’s incorrect you now don’t have to be convinced, the premier league can now use reasonable opinion if Saudi have been involved in piracy “in the reasonable opinion of the Board, he has engaged in conduct outside the United Kingdom that would constitute an offence of the sort described in Rules F.1.5.2 or F.1.5.3, if such conduct had taken place in the United Kingdom, whether or not such conduct resulted in a Conviction;“ People need to stop thinking the O&D test is a basic do you have money, have you had convictions etc, etc it’s not it’s far more stringent now, and there is a distinct possibility they the PIF will fail this test https://resources.premierleague.com/premierleague/document/2020/05/27/e9b03ff0-4f09-443e-b934-64ada14679a5/2019-20-PL-Handbook-270520.pdf Okay so reasonable opinion of the board, have PIF, not the Saudi Government, been implicated any of these reports from WTO or BeIN? If they haven't then the answer is the same no case to answer. Nobody is naive enough to think that the Saudis didn't have a major hand in BeOut piracy (probably) but unless evidence points to PIF or the directors being involved then it surely it can't be held against the takeover. IMO The Chairman of PIF is MbS, FFS. This ^^^ The documents only make mention of who is prevented from acting as a director nowhere do I see anything about restrictions on who can own a club? Edit: just saw the post below
  20. All the clauses are in relation to someone becoming a director of a club, doesn't say anything about an owner? So how would PL reject on any basis other than Stavely, The Reubens and PIF's nomination for the board being involved or strongly to believed to be involved in acts going against these clauses?
  21. Getting bored of how long this taking and the constant negative info that comes out as soon as some positivity. Anyway can't all this bollocks be solved by the Saudis fronting 80% of the money to PCP as a loan, PCP and Reubens purchase NUFC. The loan is converted into an equivalent % shareholding in PCP for PIF. By default PIF own 80% of NUFC?
