I know we’d like to think Ashley is an idiot but he isn’t. He might be a twat and he doesn’t give a toss about our club but he’s not an idiot. Got to disagree there. He is obviously a successful businessman but has little knowhow of how to run a football business. With a little more input and sound backing, the club could have been a regular top ten finisher with potential top 6.The club could have been worth twice as much as he is potentially selling it for.That's why the Monica "idiot" is very appropriate for his dealings as a Football Businessman.

That would be a valid point if we didn’t know Ashley and his history of not caring at all about the club and always gambling we will have enough. I don’t think him not sacking Bruce has anything to do with a takeover being close, more that he is willing to risk it again because we aren’t in the bottom 3 yet so he doesn’t see us in major trouble and as a result saving himself money. That is very much Ashley’s way. I just think this time, he is a willing seller, and believes he and his Lawyers will win the argument with the PL. I remain positive but may have to review my optimism if nothing happens by early March and Bruce is still here.

Wait until arbitration is finished and maybe the path becomes a little clearer Slight confusion on my behalf...meant to say a deal with BEIN...agree the improved relations between SA and QuAtar don’t have anything to do with our takeover...but relations with Bein definitely does.

Mind you this plays right into the PL hands as PIF are supposed to be separate from SA Royalty, and any movement from SA may be seen as proof that PIF and SA royalty are not separate organisations.

My fear is that both sides are waiting on each other to make the first move.SA want the PL to give some positive indication on the takeover before a deal with Quatar. On the other hand the PL want to see some movement from SA before any positive outcome. Cat and mouse......

It’s going through arbitration nothing is going to be resolved until then. The Saudis and Qatar states have just mending relations, which are very complex to say the least. Just wait as most sources have been saying end of this month/March. The arbitration will be sorted by then, but, even then there may be a wait whilst we await confirmation of what league we’re in. Agree with all that.I still believe FA hasn’t done anything about Bruce cos he thinks the takeover will happen shortly (whatever that timeframe means). Looks like we’re all looking to SA for the next move.

Personally think the Forum is a poorer place without him, whatever your views are.There should always be a place for strong views by the likes of Whitley.There is a difference between his points of view and people who are constantly on forum to wind up members.

I'm not going to argue or (try not to) talk shite, but why can't we have both views expressed as strongly as they want.I'm from the highly positive camp and revel on any indication by members of news/tweets/hearsay on the takeover. There are just as many people with the complete opposite view that these are bullshit and don't warrant healthy discussion.That's fine, everyone is allowed their own views on this subject. Personally think a ban is the wrong step to take. If I'm fed up of reading anyone's particular stance on the subject I simply stick them on my ignore list for a week. TBH if it’s the only way of stopping him from picking the team and being in the dugout, I’d take it for the short period of time. Pretty convinced anyone else in the dugout would get more out of our players than Bruce.
