What’s your definition of “Soon”……if you mean next few weeks, then I would agree, but there is every chance of the takeover in the coming months….obviously depending on the outcome of CAT and/or Arbitration

The exact ruling is:- Immediately after touching the ball with the arm, even accidentally, the player scores a goal or creates a goal-scoring opportunity. In Bale’s case,apparently enough time lapsed before goal was scored. Strange as I’ve seen goals disallowed by handball in a build up well before the goal….suppose VAR decides what length of time this should be…..AGAIN in Bale’s case i would have thought that was a short enough time to disallow the goal…but hell what do i know

Somehow, our lawyers must find enough evidence to show the judges that PIF are separate from the Saudi State…..if they do and we win the case the PL will have to either pass our takeover or employ another delaying tactic.

I think you will find that if the Saudi State were to control the club, then the issue of piracy would be uppermost and I believe that under the O&D test anyone involved in piracy would be rejected…as I’ve said before this is just hearsay anyway….bugger if I know what’s going on.

Thanks B-more Mag……a little bit more doubt about the outcome being positive. Particularly the line “What I don't think will cut it are unenforceable representations or promises that KSA hasn't exercised control before and won't in the future, if it actually has the power to do so.”……. I had read many months ago, earlier in the takeover, that evidence was produced by PIF, that by Saudi Law, it was a separate entity, and that the PL had refused to acknowledge it…of course this is just hearsay as we don’t know the intricacies of the takeover. I’m sure all will be revealed in the arbitration. Lets hope their arguments and evidence win the day.

In layman’s terms then, what are the 3 judges looking at in the Arbitration, and in your opinion, will having one judge possibly a bit pro PL, effect his decision after seeing the evidence.

Earlier this year QC Mark Pelling shone a light on what the arbitration dispute would entail, he said: "Concerned exclusively with the question whether the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia would be a 'director' under the Premier League's rules and not with the question (of) whether if Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was a 'director' it would be disqualified". The text of the letter makes it abundantly clear that the sole issue that the Premier League had decided - and then only provisionally - was that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia satisfied the definitions so that it was to be regarded as a director." The judge added: "The only dispute that can or will be decided in the current arbitration is whether this conclusion is correct". I might be misinterpreting that, but I read it as the dispute is whether the kingdom of Saudi would be a director…..in other words is PIF separate from the Saudi state…however I’m no lawyer and bow to professional judgements in this.

I can’t disagree with your view about Beloff…..but with Arbitration only dealing with “Whether PIF are separate from Saudi State”, I think the evidence will show this to be the case and even the most biased of Judges will have to concede this point……I would like to believe that despite his leanings towards the PL, his impartiality as a judge would overcome any personal ties and accept the evidence put in front of him as beyond favouritism……At least I hope so!

Mind you Arbitration is only about one issue,I’m led to believe, and that “is PIF separate from Saudi State”…piracy should only come into the discussion if Arbitration came down against this. The 3 judges have to decide if, based on the evidence, PIF is a separate entity, and again,I’m led to believe, there is plenty of evidence out there to confirm that is the case. If the judges agree with this point, then there should be no reason for the PL to block the takeover……we just have to hope the evidence convinces the judges on this count.

From this afternoons Chronicle. ”A court document referring to Ashley's case, read recently: "In reaching the director decision, the defendant failed to apply the rules in a fair, objective and non-discriminatory fashion and/or used its powers under the rules for the improper purpose of promoting its own commercial interests and/or the interests of its business associates and/or certain of the Premier League member clubs in a manner that was detrimental to competition and consumers." Not seen this anywhere else….where did this document come from.

Are we allowed to disagree with you or are you going to shut us down….We’re in here to try and be happy about the prospects of the takeover. The trouble with the takeover thread is that when we do appear in there (Whitley,Manor park ), just to name 2, they get baited and scolded for their views…which is why the Positive thread was set up..to allow us to wallow in our dreams of what might be. I’m sure i speak for all of us, when i say that discussion in this thread does not have to be from the converted, but we don’t like it when are goaded for our views of hope. There seems to be a lot of posters out there who like to wind up people for no good reason…..if you shut us down, well just have to find another avenue for our beliefs.

It’s not the same fucking topic…this one is for loonies like me, who only want to wallow in pure blind optimistic shite….if you want to debate the takeover go into the takeover thread….I started it 14 months ago, just so you can spend time arguing the many thrilling idiosyncrasy’s.

Another one on my ignore list……ffs where do these people come from…..since this story broke 14 months ago, bugger me if’ the wind up merchants havn’t evolved into a full blown “fuck you” brigade………I’m fine with anyone with a different opinion or optimism to me, it’s when they come in here and piss on our lovely chips all the time…..even if we are deluded and refuse to acknowledge the fact that the takeover won’t happen, at least allow us to wallow in our own gratification, smoke our own rollups and refuse to believe the world is round…that’s what this thread is all about.
