Grealish won’t ever get near “justifying” that price tag. I think it might always haunt him - in reality he shouldn’t be judged by it (although even ignoring the fee I’d say he’s not yet considered a prominent player there), but I think he’ll always be the hundred million pound man to some degree. I’m super excited about this. It’s an interesting challenge - there’s an element of the unknown with the amount of new players they’ve bought and it being their first game back at this level. You’d be disappointed if we didn’t win against a newly promoted side at home though.

Not sure I agree with that. They had a mediocre season by their standards and haven’t improved the squad. We have quite obvious momentum and upward trajectory and look a good bet to be at least a consistently decent team and push for European football on the regular in the not distant future. No idea if this stuff factors in but I’d certainly rather be hero worshipped at SJP instead of fanned by inflatable clappers at the walkers bowl
