Not instantly signing Targett and being heavily linked with Lodi does seem to suggest he's looking at his 4-4-2 or a 4-2-3-1 with width provided from the full back positions. Paqueta would fit perfectly for us in this scenario. If we go in for Diaby then maybe he's looking to stick with the 4-3-3 which we've had so much success with this season. Either way, we'll know more soon.

I’d be interested to hear your justifications for past ST holders being ‘more important’ than those who’ve never held one. Ranking the value of supporters is fucking hokum. How about a season ticket for the supporter who bought the most sports direct mugs? Most spent on pies inside the ground? Disclaimer: I’ve never had a ST but would dearly love an equal opportunity to get ahold of one.

I think one or two of his goals have come when he’s been playing the deeper role. I remember Howe commenting with a smile on one of them ‘I don’t even know what he’s doing there’ (so high up the pitch).

Always think it’s a bit of a double edged sword taking him off with the team as it is. Obviously it’s done to ‘shore up’ but he’s generally our only threat on the counter so taking him off seems to invite even more pressure. He truly is an enigma, I honestly don’t know my thoughts on next season with him. Part of me says he’s a liability and the other half would love to see him in a more balanced side with quality across the attacking line. Trust in Eddie I suppose.

I hear what you’re saying and Howe’s earned the chance to go with the system he thinks will bring us the most success but id be lying if I said I wouldn’t have concerns with us moving to a system no other top teams in the world are using.

Assuming we win today we need: Brentford (H) to draw or lose to Leeds. Brighton (H) to lose to West Ham Leicester (H) to lose to Southampton and a 20 goal swing in GD
