If he's not scoring, you can barely tell he's playing. Gordon takes on responsibility, shows for the ball, can beat a player or two and actively tries to make things happen. The team also know this and look to him. There is no comparison for me, stats be damned.

Barnes can finish if he's close to the goal, in space and unpressured. He's a birthday candle with no cake. I can't defend Elanga this year, so fair comment.

Barnes is fully formed. There's a glimmer of a hope this Elanga isn't the final form.

95% of good players will want away if they're good enough. It's a sign they're worth trying to keep! We should do what we can to keep them with contracts and success. We need 3 or 4 quality wingers and 2 quality forwards in the squad. Wingers: Barnes - Shite Gordon - Good Elanga - Might be shite Murphy - Shite Forwards: Osula - Might be something Wissa - Shite Woltemade - Unproven Gordon - Good I don't know how you look at that - seeking to build a successful Newcastle team and want to sell Gordon. If we can't keep him, I begrudgingly accept - but to actively want him gone because he's attracted by trophies/money is cutting off your nose to spite your face IMO.

That Tavernier for Bournemouth has a reasonably good chance of getting in the Newcastle bogey XI. Welbeck, Marmoush, Foden, Poyet are in the squad too.
