Is this mock-dialogue being staged near season ticket renewal time by any chance?

Macdonald's comments were spot on, regardless of what some think of him. People forget that he also did a decent job at Fulham as manager until his personal life intervened. Everything he pinpointed as being wrong with the team in the Derby last week was correct ; I've seen people writing off Tiote and as Macdonald says, he used to be excellent. Likewise, the way Cabaye is playing far too deep is on the button and as for Gutierrez, well we all knew that. As he says, top players will be disillusioned after this season and I can see at least one and maybe 2, departures unless there is a change of manager - I am also convinced that the players that leave will go on to show that they are much better than they look under Pardew's managment.

Cheers Nolan, Hughton and... surprisingly... Stoke.

Ronaldo is right actually. Souness was super shit, but thankfully, time has let those memories fade around the edges a little bit. Pardew can stand shoulder to shoulder with any I've seen in the shitness stakes though. No doubt about it.

He knows fucking nothing.

I can't think of worse apart from Kinnear, but at least he had the excuse of working with shit. Pardew's doing marginally better with much better resources.

Newcastle bringing the keeper up to take free kicks from the halfway line Painful to my soul

Nah our corners are about as dangerous as this in terms of area it's played to, players attacking the ball, speed and shape of the delivery... and minus the goalkeeping rick:

 The top liked comment tickled me as well Genuinely looked like several Bambis trying to kick a ball for the first time.

Varadi: put in context, it's anything but reasonable. "We know what we think is wrong and we need to put it right" is probably the pick of the bunch. He might be able to talk around what is wrong/identify it, but his tenure is struggling to more comprehensively show that he doesn't have a clue about how to put it right. The performances he is getting out of that squad is staggering. The only harsh and unfair thing is that fans have paid good money to watch that team for a whole season without calling for his head. Maybe we feel powerless as fans, castrated after our powerlessness to stop our ground turning into a stadium-sized Sports Direct logo. The derby humiliation seemed to stir people from that almost apathetic acceptance of the dross served up. Hopefully the criticism will grow increasingly just and appropriate, because it's still not there IMO.

Really worried about us looking at the fixtures. Our home fixtures are against CL-chasing Arsenal and a Liverpool side that could destroy us by 3+ goals if they click on the day (I loathe them, but Rodgers has them playing some nice stuff). Then there's our away form. We could be facing Grimsby, Port Vale and Scunthorpe and I wouldn't feel confident. Really relying on others to not catch us, more than anything IMO.

Not many (/any?) standout performers, but there's rarely much defensive recognition in these awards. Baines and Zabaleta would make my list over Hazard and Carrick.

Hughton got the boot after WBA, right? Like you, expecting zilch from tomorrow except another injury. -
Who will dethrone Pardew? Laudrup for me.
