  1. Ginola - Doncaster's away form is hardly table-topping material, but still a decent find that. Shafted it into a small throwaway accy above
  2. Doncaster, Villa, QPR, Newcastle -1

    Football pet hates

Can't remember the last English team to get through to the latter stages of a European tournament without playing 'park the bus' football. Don't particularly like Spurs, but I like their attitude/footballing ethos.
  4. Two-goal win would take us above them. Hope we have a little adventure in our play...
  5. Agree with this. I'd like to think we'd dominate the possession, and the opposition would be doing most of the running.
  6. Brought in Bentekkers at the start of the week. Some nice fixtures for the lad.
  7. Anzhi are 10/1 to win the whole thing, we're 20/1 (which is joint eighth with Zenit and Basle), yet we're 6/4 to win the second leg and they're 9/5. 23/10 the draw.
  8. I don't think it's a fantastic result. An away goal/any serious attacking ambition would have ended the tie, and it was very much within our grasp. Think a 0-0 away draw is generally a good result in European football, but just think about the second leg and what we know of our approach to football. If we go a goal up, Pardew will try to protect that lead, not finish the tie - which leads us vulnerable to one goal putting us out. I'm just not as sanguine as everyone else though obviously
  9. Whenever an English club beats a side, it's so typical of the fans of other English clubs to just lay into the poor quality of the opposition rather than give the winning English club credit. Credit to Spurs, in addition to having a more-than-decent first team, they have a very good manager. Hope they go out. As for Inter, no, they're not the force they were and they've probably half a team of injuries out (especially defensive options), but Spurs deserve credit for blowing them away and capitalising.
  10. Won't be staying at Spurs at least.
  11. Tie should be wrapped up. Big, evenly-poised game next week.
  12. 0-0 going home is just begging them to sneak a BS goal away. In result terms it's not bad, but it's the height of low ambitions, when a win seems very possible IMO. They've attacked us for 60 odd minutes with nothing substantial of note. We could have the tie wrapped up if we played for the win.
  13. That was our best ball into the box all night, from Sissoko.
