  1. Ameobi and Krul having good games. Others playing far too casually. Tiote, for whatever reason (shite pre-season etc), has looked shocking. Lucky to be level (even with the penalty/red). Sunderland looking a very good side, tbf. Obertan been a little anonymous. Still no real bridge between defence and attack.

    Shola Ameobi

Bloody hell, the pressure on Shola today.

    Alan Pardew

Pardew is one with the regime. Barring any brilliant tactical or motivational actions on his part (yet to see either in his tenure so far) a result will be achieved largely in spite of the regime/Pardew rather than because of it IMO.

    Sunderland...

Great article Good on both of them. Thems were the days!

  6. That won't be our midfield tomorrow, looks like Colback is getting dropped for Gardner according to all the rumours. Elmohamady Cattermole Gardner Larsson Elmohamady never turned up in the two games against you last season but on his day can go past full backs with ease, not sure how tall Ryan Taylor is, but apart from his pace, Elmohamady's major strength is his heading ability and this could be an area where the game is won or lost. IMO our midfield has more goalscoring/creative threat than yours does, all about opinions though. Why do you play Sebastian Larsson on the left wing? Basically because we have nobody else, not a ideal situation but he done well there last week and still created Liverpool a few problems coming inside on his right foot and delivered some decent balls in. If Simpson plays, he's in luck. Despite knowing Larsson can't step on the pedal and go to the byline, he still won't block off Larsson's options to the right.
  7. The forgotten Abeid to to get a late winner and celebrate with a seal impression, to continue last season's animal-themed chicken celebrations.

    Mohamed Salah

    No, I'm Spartacus!
  9. “Newcastle will soon make an official offer to sign me for one season. I don’t think Contractors will refuse to let me play in the English Premier League,” he told Ahram Online. During the World Cup, Salah bamboozled opponents with some neat tricks and superb footwork but he was often blamed for failing to apply the finishing touch, having wasted many goal-scoring opportunities. Are you Lomana in disguise, are you Lomana, are you Lomana, are you Lomana Lua Lua in disguise!
  10. Carroll, Nolan, Enrique and possibly Barton, I could take... ...but old Danny boy? :'(
  11. GoCompare cretin. I really think a five man midfield is the way to go. It's the one area I really feel like we can dominate (whereas our defence can be iffy and our attack nullified). Hoping for a much better link between attack and defence than against Arsenal, and I think a five man midfield with Obertan or Vuckic would help.

    Alan Pardew

Weren't we 9th when Hughton got the boot? Edit: Ah, these are league finishes.

    Alan Pardew

Even with the low standards Pardew has set, I'll be disappointed if he either puts Lovenkrands on the bench ahead of Vuckic or fails to start Ferguson at LB.

  15. That's a bold statement. We have only three centre-backs, one makeshift leftback and an uninspiring array of options up front so I can can understand why it's not a great squad, but your statement seems to imply it to be a squad you suspect may get relegated? Or do you have enough faith in the first-team to allay such fears?

  17. I would agree you're not moving forward too quickly, but you're in a pretty good place, and with a bit of luck and determination, you could nab a Europa spot this year. In terms of a longer-term push for CL places and beyond, well, I don't feel qualified enough on matters Evertonian to say Edit: See your point though, not a bed of roses.
  18. its in reply to this http://peoplesgroup.wordpress.com/2011/08/17/the-blue-unions-meeting-with-bill-kenwright/ and its long but one of the strangest things i have ever read, he makes mike ashtley look like he knows his stuff Reading Arteta's recent quotes was a bit upsetting. Even though they might not bring anyone in, he was happy at least that they had hung on to their stars! [Well, Rodwell and Jagielka]
