TBF, being ridiculed by Ronaldo is something to be quite proud of. (Just joshing R-Dog!) Aye, he tends to follow posters around who have embarrassed him.
-
No idea he was still 24 until just now. Thought he'd been around for a much longer time.
-
Harsh on Cort. His goal average wasn't bad at NUFC actually. Mm, NUFC 6 - 2 Everton. Are you reading Neil? ARE YOU SCARED? EH? EH? EH?!
-
Saddeningly hilarious if true (on the back of his recent FA let-off).
-
He'll rifle one in from 25 yards. From there, it'll need to be a good shot. You're all way off the mark.
-
Walcott too.

cat? Non Etoit? read it backwards

Who are we cheering for today? Have we still got lingering relegation fears, or do we want our midtable competitors who are also pushing for European spots to falter?
-
Well, as long as we agree it's both crap wormy
-
Oh, and the principle of upholding the referee's on-the-spot judgement seems like overly-sentimental tosh to me too, IMO.

Good topic for a thread - it's a shambles of a situation with the media having so much control, but fairly typical/predictable of the FA to conduct business this way. Whoever smacked Koscielny around the head (after his/Szczesny's howler) will get away with it as well.
-
Really good interview don't think he's said anything wrong/out of place. He's entitled to say whatever he wants, anyway. He's worked with Ashley/Llambias - none of you have. Andy's earlier post (bottom of page 1) makes a lot of sense too.

Europe: would you take, er, 5th place right now?

It's alright, we won a trophy (well, glassy-looking certificate) in 2006. If only it were still around. Europe via 6th isn't impossible though. Liverpool's "resurgence" hype is balls/media pap. They're still horrendous away from home. -
Aye, what's with this new fad of bumping ancient posts?
-
Have to get a picture of the crestfallen Szczesny and Koscielny looking at each other with Wilshere in the background with a shocked expression?

They tried though, unlike, say, us. I thought Hughton was a top, top manager, you can't possibly be suggesting that he got it wrong. I said at the time that he got it wrong, just like Pardew vs Stevenage. I thought fielding the second string against Arsenal was the right choice personally. We might not have won the derby the following Saturday had we not rested everyone in the midweek against Arsenal's second string. The second string didn't even do that badly - the game was really even until we conceded a bizarre goal on the stroke of half-time, then they just murdered us on the counter second half. Squad was way too thin to concentrate on going for cups and staying up (when staying up wasn't as likely as it looks to be now). Easy to say we should have attacked the cups more aggressively with hindsight.
-
Fuck that, they deserve it. Who gives a fuck about the top four/five? Just shows what could happen if we actually tried in the cups. Nothing to do with giving a fuck, just highly perplexing! If we tried in the cups, we'd get full-strength/motivated top four sides played against us every stage of the competition! Always, always, always. They don't deserve it either IMO.

Birmingham are so shit - not to even mention their fans. How, in a season where Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City and Spurs are all competing for four trophies... have Birmingham just gone and won one of them.
-
Arsenal/Man City Man City/Liverpool
-
Yup, humiliate them Arsene!

Well I don't think fees paid reflect how well someone is rated, because of different economic market conditions across Europe. Haven't seen him feature in many(/any?) World XIs, alongside continental defenders who people seem much quicker to glorify. Fully willing to accept that my view of him as being underrated may just be based on an unrepresentative sample of people Don't think it was though.
-
Rio is definitely underrated and IMO one of the greatest CB of the modern day game - maybe his "I missed the drug's test because I was getting my linen washed that day" saga has sullied people's idea of his intelligence - but in terms of footballing intelligence, he is massively underrated. Absolutely fantastic CB. Having said that, Woody at his best > Rio. Easy (which tells you just how good Woodgate was).

Aye, this seems to have been largely ignored. They play some decent stuff at times - a neat series of passes between three or four of their players up their left sideline sticks out in particular as being representative of that. Some of the disappointment of another draw has subsided (especially when a NUFC win looked so comfortably achievable at spells during the first half) I feel less aggrieved because Bolton are a good side. Not as good us, but a good side. Based on what exactly? Our domination of them in the first half is a good starter. (If you quote me the 5-1 reverse fixture, we had Smith/Guthrie that day). first half ? they looked the most lkely in the last 10 of the first half.....that equaliser wan't against the run of play. Okay then, the other 35 where we fashioned way more chances with ease Mr Pointlessly Pedantic
