  1. It's puzzling that Sam doesn't consider Milner a right-winger, but it also suggests that we will be looking the strengthen that position in January. Which is good, because I can't handle any more of this Oba/Geremi bullshit.
  2. No. We could do with another striker, but not at the expense of losing one we already have.
  3. Agreed. We didn't drop any points due to bad tactics today. The only questionable selection IMO (Zog at left-back) was a non-issue. We dropped points because Barton, Butt, Rozenhal & Cacapa didn't perform well. Blame the manager for failing to motivate them or train them if you find that more convenient, but tactics don't really enter into it.
  4. At the moment, the problem is in the middle of the park. Central midfield and central defence. Neither have any control, and we are suffering because of it. If Sam doesn't recognize that and make changes next month, then we also have a problem in the dugout. I expect a replacement for Butt in January and some time for Barton on the bench.
  5. I can't imagine how you can say we were all over them when we created so few chances. Would you be saying the same thing if Steve Howard had gotten his head to that cross when he was completely unmarked and made it 3?
  6. Me too. Although I should also point out that I had Inter v. Milan on the other television.
  7. The midfield were atrocious today. How often do you see both of your central midfielders taken off at home?
  8. All I want for Christmas are technically capable players and a manager capable of organizing them into a coherent, confident team.
  9. Some good quality football? What has this commentator been smoking?
  10. There were 5 people watching the match in my house and 4 of them fell asleep.
  11. Of the players I've actually seen regularly (and not just in highlight reels or the occasional match) then Giggs, Fowler & Shearer.
  12. Bashing Newcastle is now the official editorial policy of BBC Sport/606
  13. But the poor old national papers won't sell as many copies without a weekly doom and gloom story
  14. Had a poor feed but caught the replay; the ball seemed to come over him i think, or something. But anyway, gist of it was, there was a chase on between him and Jerome on goal, Rozehnal was absolutely nowhere and put in a pathetic tackle attempt. Jerome just rounded Given and finished easily. Was fairly similar to Caçapa/Benjani-gate. It must just be a case of foreign defenders adapting to the league, but it is still baffling how top class, award winning defenders come to this club and make basic errors.
