  1. There is so little to be proud about when it comes to this club. I don't know who to believe - and neither do any of you - but if Ashley is actually as passionate about the club as the post makes him seem, then he needs to look at changing the administration of the club. His appointments need to reflect his passion. Why does it take this total meltdown - these two weeks of embarassment and farce - in order for a personal statement from someone in charge? Where are his APPOINTMENTS? Where are they, what do they do? I have no doubt that he has poured his own money into the club, but the Gestapo & the KGB had better PR & media relations. Take charge....communicate, manage, lead.
  2. Guthrie is a good player. Ameobi starting is just wrong. we need a right winger and we need a right back. but we've had a better transfer window than a lot of clubs. That isn't saying much given the state of the squad. We needed an exceptional transfer window and we got one good player, one pretty good player and some unknowns. Fail. Just woke up with a splitting fucking headache. Glad I missed this one. Hull FFS. Doesn't get much worse than that.
  3. You have to force quit to get the damn thing to stop.
  4. At what point does rick-rolling and crashing other peoples browsers stop being funny?
  5. I'm not expecting good things, even if it is only Hull. I'll be very impressed with Hughton if he can get an organized, professional performance out of them given the injuries and everything that has gone on off the pitch.
  6. Wenger is probably just trying to control the outrageous expectations that will follow him around after that performance. The media build you up only so they can knock you down.
  7. It really was a sensational performance, but you just watch them draw 0-0 against Kazakhstan or Belarus next month.
  8. Should have been a foul tbf. I just didn't like the way he collapsed instead of getting back to help. But who cares. 1-4
  9. Blimey. Scored more in Zagreb than we did against Andorra.
  10. Team: James, Brown, Ferdinand, Terry, A Cole, Walcott, Barry, Lampard, J Cole, Rooney, Heskey.
  11. Did Roeder not happen ?? Roeder's problem was his ineptitude as a manager: signing players and building a squad. Our next appointment won't have to worry about that.
  12. Honest question: do we need manager? Aren't they really looking for someone to act as a head coach? I can't help but feel as though another appointment would be pointless. None of the names mentioned are particularly exciting, and I don't know if they are worth the risk. Zico & Deschamps have big names and big reputations, but their resumes as managers are fairly thin. They aren't necessarily any better at their jobs or more suitable simply because they are famous. If a very qualified candidate comes along, fair enough, but so far that hasn't been the case. I'll put my tin hat on, but give the job to Hughton for a few weeks and see what he can make of it. See how the players perform and respond to him. He's young, he knows the players by now, hopefully they trust him, and he has seen what works and what doesn't in the past year. Instead of spending big money on another manager, try spending that money on a first rate coaching staff to replace the old boys who quit with Keegan.
  13. http://www.timeandleisure.co.uk/Portals/0/t4k/LT%20Sooty%20Wand%20(SQ).jpg FTW. Our next manager will need a magic wand. Alternatively, Mr. Hat with Dennis Wise as Mr. Garrison.
  14. How good is his English? How thorough is his knowledge of the Premiership? What is his tactical preference? Is he charismatic enough to win over the disillusioned squad? On second thought, who cares. Just appoint him, see what happens. Or Terim. Or Poyet. Or Houghton. Anyone else finding this managerial search as about as exciting as doing your taxes?

    Positivity

The best you can hope for is quiet, polite apathy. But the reality of the situation is that supporters are likely going to vent their frustrations. It might be a good thing or a bad thing, but it's an unavoidable outcome. Blaming Ashley, Wise, Keegan, the media or plain old bad luck doesn't change the fact that the club has been run like a circus in recent years and it leaves supporters with very little to be positive about.
  16. Sven's Mexico look very good against Jamaica.

    Dennis Wise

Can I just say, Sir Bobby Robson is a legend. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/article-1053136/If-Wise-won-8217-t-club-needs-too.html The great man has spoken. Wise. Out.
  18. I remember reading this when it was posted during the summer and thinking it sounded about right. This thread is actually the perfect testament to how completely predictable this whole melt down was. The adage 'never a dull moment with this club' no longer applies. This is all very dull. Failure has become a fucking habit.
  19. This isn't 99% of the time, this is a club in an exceptionally shit situation. Winning over the players and the fans will be the first priority of the next manager. I'd take a chance on his actual managerial abilities for now. I certainly don't buy this argument that all managers should have to work their way up from League 2 in order to prove themselves.
  20. Fuck. No. That would surely be entering FC United breakaway club territory if he appointed that pig nosed fucker.
  21. The best thing Ashley can do is throw Dennis Wise under the bus ASAP. I want some blood, and that beady eyed cockney dwarf's head on pike would make me feel better. Then get rid of Jimenez & Llambas. Acknowledge failure, accept responsibility. If Keegan goes, he should clear the fucking lot out. The worst thing he can do is defend the cronies that have derailed this season.
  22. I do feel sort of sorry for those two. They won't be popular, and it really isn't their fault.
