  1. Bruno, Mayor of Tyneside. I like it.

    Callum Wilson

Sorry, but there's no way you can convince me that putting Burn into our first XI ahead of Maxi is a good idea To me it's quite simple, you've got 90% of it - Pope Schar Botman Trippier Targett Shelvey Bruno Joelinton Isak Maxi Wilson

Maxi, Isak and Wilson up top has 3 players that can actually put the ball in the net at the PL level. You compare that to recently Isak + any 2 other senior players on our squad, it's no wonder we're not scoring. It'll be night & day with those 2 back.

    Alexander Isak

Him behind Wilson would be interesting Something like ------------Pope---------------- Trips - Schar - Botman - Targett -------------Shelvey------------ -------Bruno-----Joelinton----- --------------------------ASM-- ----<--Isak-->------------------ -----------------Wilson---------
  5. It really isn't a mystery, put him on the left and we might have a different player. On the right he's not PL level.
  6. 100% agree that we are a for more effective team with Longstaff and Murphy than Willock and Almiron right now, even with the limitations of the aforementioned players.
  7. On the plus side, all this game has done has build the case for Anderson even further.
  8. Only Trippier and Targett look up before crossing, Willock, Fraser, Almiron, and Ritchie are heads-down players that have no clue where anyone is until they look up, it's not PL-level play. So often they just lump it in after staring at the ball/ground as they try to take it past someone as they have no idea who's in the box.
  9. Almiron is like that player on FIFA pro clubs who only knows one move and holds L1+R1 the entire time and has no idea where any of his teammates are .
  10. The co-commentator on my river thought the difficulty lay in the keeper actually sighting the shot to begin with, but yes it was a comfortable height and distance from where he was positioned.
  11. Isak, known to be shit in the air, wins his one header in the box and angles it down and towards goal. Whereas Wood....
  12. Isak coming deep and getting involved again.
  13. Tinhat, I think he offers a lot more than Almiron.
  14. Congratulations to Ryan Fraser on winning his first header of his career, by the looks of it
  15. The two most important positions on the pitch in the build up for the final third are the wide players, and our wide players are on a different planet to the rest of our team in terms of their ability in their position.
  16. See, Isak deep gets on the ball and makes opportunities. Having him push their defensive line back is a complete was of his skillset.
  17. Needs to be given licence to come deep and collect the ball like he did at Liverpool. It's worrying that for all our possession and great retention, the instructions to Wilson, Wood and Isak are exactly the same, hang off the shoulder off the last defender to push their defensive line back. It means we almost never can pull the defenders out of their line and we have no interplay with Joelinton/Bruno/Willock moving up as Isak drops in. To me it's basics, I have no idea why Howe does this.
