Hly shit, Almiron is the definition of a stopped clock Absolutely bang on once or twice a season haha

I'm going to put my tinhat on and say that I think Shelveys's defensive work in the past 12 months, especially since Howe has come in, is criminally underrated. Off the ball he's been very busy and putting a foot in. He's not Joelinton or Bruno at winning it back, but the harrying is all that's needed to not be a burden to the team when he's got those 2 working with him. Personally I'd like to see Joelinton sitting in front of the defence, his ball carrying and outlet passing is top rate. With Bruno and someone decent in front, this could work well. But without a good offensive midfielder next to Bruno, Shelvey at the 6 allows Bruno to play the 8 and this just plays to everybody's strengths and preferences. Not sure about Shelvey in front of Joelinton though, Shelvey needs time on the ball, he usually has to look at and find his pass whilst in possession, unlike Bruno who knows where he's putting it before he receives it.

Weird, they took down the video? Was embedded in my post earlier this page.

I regularly have to check the locks on my wife's restraints, she's always trying to get back over there.

They're hardly going to give him a grilling, he's only 19 and just making his break through into the first team. I doubt he's been media training that long either.

Bruno, Mayor of Tyneside. I like it.

Sorry, but there's no way you can convince me that putting Burn into our first XI ahead of Maxi is a good idea To me it's quite simple, you've got 90% of it - Pope Schar Botman Trippier Targett Shelvey Bruno Joelinton Isak Maxi Wilson
-
Maxi, Isak and Wilson up top has 3 players that can actually put the ball in the net at the PL level. You compare that to recently Isak + any 2 other senior players on our squad, it's no wonder we're not scoring. It'll be night & day with those 2 back.
-
Him behind Wilson would be interesting Something like ------------Pope---------------- Trips - Schar - Botman - Targett -------------Shelvey------------ -------Bruno-----Joelinton----- --------------------------ASM-- ----<--Isak-->------------------ -----------------Wilson---------
-
It really isn't a mystery, put him on the left and we might have a different player. On the right he's not PL level.
-
100% agree that we are a for more effective team with Longstaff and Murphy than Willock and Almiron right now, even with the limitations of the aforementioned players.
-
On the plus side, all this game has done has build the case for Anderson even further.
-
Only Trippier and Targett look up before crossing, Willock, Fraser, Almiron, and Ritchie are heads-down players that have no clue where anyone is until they look up, it's not PL-level play. So often they just lump it in after staring at the ball/ground as they try to take it past someone as they have no idea who's in the box.

Almiron is like that player on FIFA pro clubs who only knows one move and holds L1+R1 the entire time and has no idea where any of his teammates are .
-
The co-commentator on my river thought the difficulty lay in the keeper actually sighting the shot to begin with, but yes it was a comfortable height and distance from where he was positioned.
-
Isak, known to be shit in the air, wins his one header in the box and angles it down and towards goal. Whereas Wood....

-
Isak coming deep and getting involved again.
