Perfect, those two reputable sources working together will ensure we strip away all the conjecture and get to the truth of the matter. After all the last thing they will want is to get us slagging our own off and blowing things out of proportion before we know if anything has even happened.

Enrique, Guthrie, Lovenkrands, Carroll, Jonas, Routledge, Kadar, Krul. In that order... at least for today. Really warming to Carroll. Goals will do that. Enrique has been one of my favorites since he signed. Initially, I took to him because he was discounted in the press as another shit NUFC signing. This, despite the fact, that he was obviously a very good player-- to my eyes at least. And to the eyes of a lot of posters here as well. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/columns/story?id=534468&cc=5901

Can I sell James Milner for £12M?

Already have, apparently http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/mar/18/glenn-hoddle-nigeria-police-investigation

Voted for Løvenkrands and then instantly regreted it. Coloccini is the right answer I think.

Some time ago a thread got side-tracked by a debate as to whether Stoke City was a shit club or not. People took one side or another of the debate citing the club's history, their attendence, the "virtues" of their fans, etc. I got to thinking about whether there were 20 non-shit clubs in England. That is, 20 clubs that I'd want to see in the top flight. If you could choose the 20 clubs in the Premier League, which one's would you choose and why? 1) Newcastle United 2) Sunderland 3) Manchester United 4) Manchester City 5) Everton 6) Liverpool 7) Leeds United 8) Aston Villa 9) Arsenal 10) Tottenham 11) West Ham United 12) Chelsea --- 13) Boro 14) Wolves 15) Norwich 16) Derby 17) Birmingham 18) Sheffield United 19) Stoke City 20) Hull City Personally, I couldn't come up with 20 that I genuinely wanted in the top flight though there were plenty that I wanted to go away--Wigan, Bolton, Blackburn. After 12, I just rounded out the list based on (perceived) attendence. So I don't think you could have a top flght without some crap clubs in the mix. The best you could hope for is clubs that draw reasonably well, represent different regions, or perserve some derbies. Is it important that all of England is represented? Are derbies important?

Owen's attitude was terrible and he contributed nothing as captain. The sight of him sulking about the field said it all. But then, Keegan at least managed to squeeze something useful out of him for a time. Funny how that experiment went by the wayside.

Yes and I'm not so sure. As proud as I am of the results against Egypt and Spain, I feel the success at the Confederations Cup masked over some real problems with Bradley's tactics and squad selection. Really dreadful to watch. Would've liked to see more of Torres and Edu instead of a half of each.

This is a pretty good view on us, mainly because we essentially were Fulham a few years ago. 6 or 7 players on the team in 2008 or something like that. Someone mentioned your shitty KO times, I could only wish ours were that nice. I'll be waking up at 7:30 for two weeks straight, other times are 10 and 2:30. Except Fulham had sense enough to drop Bocanegra. No one else to put in. Most of the time he has a quiet game, without too many mistakes. When we have him at LB it really neutralizes him. It's just a really sad statement that we (feel that we) do not have any other options. What does it say about USSoccer, Bob Bradley, and MLS that they haven't developed a better player than Bocanegra--he's been a lock since 2002. And now there's actual talk about bringing Beasely into th squad. DaMarcus Fucking Beasely? Who next? Bobby Convey? Paper-thin squad. I'm feeling very negative about the Cup. England is going to rip us a new one. Could see the US repeating the performance of 98-- losing all three matches. Anyway, sorry for venting.

Don't fix it; it ain't broke.

I think the US top is dreadful. Could do without the red collar and all the polychromy. But, yes, the sash is quite reminiscent of the shirt worn in 1950. I wonder if the design was chosen because the US is playing England in the World Cup.

Why do you think it was a while before I came on? I was outside the ground queuing for my copy. -
Swansea will finish third, I think. Wouldn't be totally shocked to see them nick second.
-
Who do you want to finish 4th in the Premier League?
gazza ladra replied to bealios's topic in Football
Villa or Everton. Then Liverpool or ManCity. Then Spurs. Hatred of Tottenham is bizarre. I don't really undertand it, so don't ask me to expain. -
So are you Algerian, American, or Slovenian? So in Nigeria news, Sven is in the country right now. Apparently he's on the shortlist which includes Glen Hoddle. I forget, didn't Hoddle lose his mind when he was manager of England? Let's just hope his ideas about disabled people and their previous lives doesn't extend to people living in abject poverty. Basically he lost his mind, yeah. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glenn_Hoddle#Dismissal_from_England_job So are you Algerian, American, or Slovenian? No. But it'll be funny as hell. This. I'm not generally against England, but I can understand why the "Anyone but England" attitude is common. Is it really that common? I guess in the US it's not so much. Maybe I'm just oblivious. I hear a lot of "Anyone but Italy", but maybe that's just the circles I run in. I do enjoy reading the English and Italian press when their national teams fail though.

I'm an Algerian Mag and I strongly disagree. Wow. Both at your opinion... and my grammar. We greatly disagree.

As an American, I'm greating disappointed that Bridge won't be playing for England in the World Cup. I'm sure that Slovenian and Algerian Mags will concur.
