It just doesn't add up, from what we know about Mort. Either they have somebody else lined up and this is infact a smokescreen, or in Mike Ashley we have another Freddy Shepherd who sacked Sam on a whim. The latter is currently looking more likely... Its exactly what I'm thinking too. When SA was suddenly sacked, my first thought was "somebody big has been lined up - goes with the story in the Chron" Now thats looking less likely.

When we were looking for a new manager, who were the main ones suggested in the press? - Bruce and Allardyce? Anyone else? Then pretty much out of the blue Souness was wrongly appointed. Just hope this is the same, only its a class manager appointed out of the blue.

All of these stories are so made up, they blatently know as much as us. But this last line, is the worst, its in every report that they want a manager who believes in attractive football. Nowt about winning trophies, nowt about actually speaking to Mort or Ashley, just believing thats all nufc fans want. Really pisses me off. If Mourinho comes in and we win all our home games 1-0, and win half of our away games, not many will be complaining when we are in the Champions League, or competiting for trophies.
